Koen 2 Posted March 29, 2006 The current TibEd 2 version! You can download it from http://www.tibed.net/download?tibed2 . Or just go to http://www.tibed.net and follow the links. What's new in beta 4: - The First Decade support - files are now imported on demand (when you change them) instead of importing them right away - project can be started from a BIG file (to import an existing mod) - comments in INI files are preserved - BfME editor removed (will not return) - many bugfixes - overall a very big rewrite, but all functions from beta 3 should have been implemented again - Generals Mod Selector now remembers custom game folders Share this post Link to post
Thierry 0 Posted January 24, 2007 Found a bug: If you edit a value, go to another value, and then go back the original value and try to edit it, it gives an error, something with unpacking I think. It doesnt crash tibed, and going to another unit and back allows me to edit the value again, but it gets annoying. TibEd is definitely getting better, but what I would really love to see is a simply manual editor, that simply shows the INI file as you would from FinalBIG -> Notepad, showing all the code. (be even greater if you automaticly go the part in the INI file that you are editing in with Tibed). Also a thing, you cant remove a value, the value bar is empty yes, but the value itself remains, so you get attributes in a unit that does have "Attribute =", but then no value, causing Generals/ZH to crash. Thierry 0 Posted January 25, 2007 Also something, where is the ObjectCreationList (OCL) tab? Share this post Link to post
Koen 2 Posted January 28, 2007 OCL was not added in after switching to the new backend. I'm all for a simple manual editor... but I have a severe lack of time with a MSc thesis to finish. Share this post Link to post
Thierry 0 Posted February 1, 2007 I'll still give you the bugs though Trying to add a new weapon type to an armor type usually completely crashes Tibed, I can change an armor fine, but adding a new weapon type to it will crash it when I try to select the next armor. Also something, I use tibed as a mod switcher, and I import a lot of INI files that I edit with Notepad, but it seems that not all INI's are 'loaded'. I modified GameData.ini with changes to the camera zoom height, and then imported it into the correct data/ini folder with the Project Explorer. However, the game doesnt seem to use the new GameData.ini, it does use other ini's though, as it can load Multiplayer.ini just fine. Also, with the First Decade, when I load a mod with the Mod Selector and ZH is loaded and the menu appears in the first screen of ZH, it will minimize on the first click, if I then select ZH from the taskbar, it works fine, but everytime the game is loaded, it has to minimize first. Koen 2 Posted February 2, 2007 GameData.ini is the only INI file which can not reside in a BIG file - it needs to be a regular file in the folder structure, otherwise the game won't use it. Kind of annoying that the game works like this. Share this post Link to post
Thierry 0 Posted February 5, 2007 Another one... Cant add new strings, the first value becomes the ID (which should be automaticlly done, not manually) and the second is the description. But the name/key remains empty and thus the string doesnt work. The first value you enter should go to the key value, not the ID. Share this post Link to post

Cannot reproduce. Can you give more detailled steps, if you still remember? Possibly, this bug has been fixed as a side-effect of fixing the unpacking bug. Share this post Link to post

I'll look into these two feature requests; with key removal the top priority one. Share this post Link to post
