Doctor Destiny 42 Posted April 27, 2006 If I didn't have a reason to hate America before, they're just handing out reasons. This is just a frightening prospect. To lose my Internet freedom because some ****ing corporate fatcats don't have enough illgotten money is just dispicable. I hope these greedy ****s die in horrible ways for attempting to abridge free speech, assemply and expression. I mean really, what in the **** are they going to accomplish with this? The very idea would spark a fire and spur a hatred from which the corporations pushing this will never escape... although, I'm not sure with the way Americans are these days. Either way, **** these greedy assholes. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 297 Posted April 27, 2006 So they want to control what you do on your internet connection? Thats total ****!!!! Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted April 27, 2006 Yikes... I can't see this gaining any real momentum, but it sucks that they're still trying to do it  Also Fenring, this shouldn't give you reason to hate America. Remember that America GAVE us the internet  Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted April 27, 2006 Meh... It could be worse.... It could happen here! Till then, does it really matter? I'm kidding... No really I am... But surely something like that wouldn't come into being would it? Meh.. Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted April 27, 2006 If it does, trust me, there will be mass-protest. Verizon and AT&T buildings would be in flames. Also, isn't this kind of violating this? Share this post Link to post
F15pilotX 4 Posted April 27, 2006 I'd say so.....I couldn't give a crap what happens to those 2-3 companies' buildings....I use VirginMobile Share this post Link to post

Doctor Destiny 42 Posted April 28, 2006 i use verizon DSL and verizon phone service.does that mean faster service for me? For sites that pay the highest price, yeah. Otherwise, no. Also, isn't this kind of violating this? Yes, yes it is. That's the f*cking problem with it. Also Fenring, this shouldn't give you reason to hate America. Only in this country would big business try to hog everything for themselves. Denying free speech for money and power is an excellent reason to hate America. But surely something like that wouldn't come into being would it? Meh.. You'd think so but this country is all about greenbacks, which isn't bad until you begin abridging rights like freedom of speech. Share this post Link to post

Guest MadBadger Posted April 28, 2006 Remember that America GAVE us the internet  NO UK Professor had the idear first like back in '70s-'80s. he connected Oxford uni with NYU with phone line to transfer research info then with european unis before Yale and other US unis got into it. After about 150+ Unis were on this 'Research transfer link' the US millitary straight Jacked it for Cold War comms and wacked up the 13 uber servers that form the backbone of todays net later some smart arse gave us the version we had today. Originaly when the net first came about there were several different 'versions' WWW was the most popular so won out (im a bit rusty on this bit.....) Don't forget it was a BRIT!!! Who started the net P.S. Internet2 is in development..... @ Oxford! :P Gona be super high speed Uni service thou...... but its being structured to be enlarged like the net we currently have. P.P.S. Kings gona take all the Oxford stuff so well..... meh.... Share this post Link to post
