Explain how the Darwinists can overcome the problems of newly discovered, irreducibly complex cellular systems with their theory of evolution. This one has been bugging me....

Or you could take a stab at God's omnipotence and benevolence, and how these traits don't seem to square with suffering in the world (to our immature human minds).

OR you could just dive into the whole mess of predestination versus free will.

There. Go nuts

The first question I have just heard of, so it would be hard pressed for me to answer.

I can answer the second one:

I believe that, if there is a god, he is setting the world at a balance. If god created only beautiful things and never a bad thing in sight, the balance would be off. I say this because without unhappiness, there is no happiness. If someone is blessed with a perfect world with no pain, after a while, they would become null to the pleasure, being exposed to it for so long.

Not to be a rule nazi, but remember a whilst back when King banned all religious talk because some people went a little far? I'm just throwing that out there. ;)

Question! Why doesn't everything in the universe colapse together if there is nothing but a vacuum in space. No air. :P

There are actually elements there, it's not a vacuum. And did you ever hear about gravity?

like what asteroids and dust :?: chh and how does gravity have an effect, it varies on size like pluto to jupiter and the sun and AND doesn't gravity pull other objects into another (the Earth pulls the Moon) :?

Why doesn't everything in the universe colapse together (implode)like sucking the air out of a bottle

Because of the electromagnetic redshift we see throughout the universe from the point of its origin, we know that it's still expanding outward, planets and galaxies like bits of dust in an explosion. Some believe that it will evenutally lose steam and collapse back in on itself (some also believe that collapse and explosion in the universe are part of a constant cycle), but for now, everything is slowly moving outward.

i believe the point of this topic was to ask Auron the questions?

we should just ignore dum and random comments...to keep the substance of this topic..no? :P

@AURON

-got this one from a movie "WAKING LIFE"...AWESOME..

they say that when we dream, time slows relative to our consciousness. if we are sleeping and dreaming, in real time it would be lets say 10 minutes...but the dream feels like 24 hours or longer...

now, when we die it is known ( :?: ) that the brain is still active for about 6 minutes after the heart stops...are we dreaming in those 6 minutes? and if we are...about what...also...dreams help us remember things we learn..to reinforce......

SO... maybe our lives are those last 6 dream minutes of us remembering our lives...like we are seeing it over..or maybe for the first time....

anyone get what im saying? does it sound logical or practical?

i wish you'd see the movie it would help so much

I am guessing these last 6 minutes of seeing back on your life would be brought on guilt of maybe doing nothing will that persons life. In that last 6 minutes they look back on their life, wishing they had done different things.

You are guessing? I thought you can answer any question?

Honestly, I have to say I think this is another spam topic.

When your heart stops, you can't dream. You lose conciousness, because all the blood has left your head, and because blood stops moving, you can not experience REM. Thus, no dreaming while you still die.

If you don't know, just admit it.

You're calling into question the existance of the soul... which is a pretty hotly debated topic in science today. There are legitimate questions as to whether or not you do in fact "dream" while medically dead.

If it's only the six minutes, then your soul won't kick in quite yet.

These are the 6 minutes when you are truly NOT dead. You are dead after the 6 minutes, and since you aren't dead during them, but your body can't really do any work, you just sit there not even doing anything.

You can't dream, because you are UNconcious.

There is a difference between the SUBconciousness (Dream stature), and the UNconciousness (No thought at all, and no memory of even experiencing it). Because of the fact that blood has stopped, the only thing you can do is collapse. Your brain, still working for 6 minutes, will realize that there is no air coming, so it tries to send messages out to the whole body to try to jerk, because the brain naturally assumes there is an obstruction.

Here's another instance.

If you're being hung, or you're hanging yourself, as soon as you faint, or lose energy, your body will jerk around for a few minutes, because of the same reasons. To get out of the obstruction (in this case, the noose), the brain tells the body to do jerk around violently.

Now, going back to your heart stopping, unfortunately, there is no blood going to your body, so it can not jerk. The brain still sends messages out to the body trying to keep it alive, but there is nothing it can do.

Even if their was soul involved, which, in my opinion, there isn't, but if there was, it still wouldn't come around until you were fully dead. Because, in reality, you are not dead, until those 6 minutes expire.

lemme test this theory on myself and if i don't respond in two ta three weeks well then.......

I could say that's not funny, but if it's you, I'm fine with that.
