F15pilotX 4 Posted August 13, 2006 while there's a topic like this...how's ur band going Cygnus? Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted August 13, 2006 funny you should mention that... I'm aquiring a Musicman Stingray bass (www.musiciansfriend.com) in about a week, and there are 4 well written (and I mean well written, played, ect. Blistering coolness) songs. Vortex consists of "The Prince"-lead guitars, "The Percussionator"-drums and percussion, and "Cygnus" (me) Vocals, Bass, keyboards, and occasion rhythm guitar. Got a show in 3 weeks, plus another one late Sept/early October. ("show" is a loose term here, its local venues that play local bandds) Share this post Link to post
F15pilotX 4 Posted August 13, 2006 Ya might want to update your site then, as it says no show are coming up  anyways, good luck with it Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted August 14, 2006 Got a show in 3 weeks, plus another one late Sept/early October. ("show" is a loose term here, its local venues that play local bandds) I thought it was called a "gig" Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted August 14, 2006 We're not big enough to use that term  F15 - the site is a piece of ____ Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted August 17, 2006 Another new song by Metallica..... the sound quality is crappy though..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0VKpfMkKKI This was recently performed in Japan. Share this post Link to post
Tree 0 Posted August 17, 2006 I can't really pick at James's voice, since the sound quality is so bad. But it doesn't sound bad. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted August 18, 2006 Any of the new songs that Metallica have performed at these recent shows can't be judged until you listen to the studio produced versions. Assuming these songs even make the cut for the next album. Metallica did the exact same thing during the recording of the Load/Reload albums. The played new stuff for fans back then to see what they liked. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted August 18, 2006 Im guessing that it sounds much better when you're actually there... Rush used to go on "pre-release" tours to play a few things before the album was finished. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted September 6, 2006 Here is a way better sounding version of Metallica's other new song..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snPAOzp2YOA&NR (with video) (only the audio but sounds even better) Cool beat to this one. I have a feeling the lyrics will be changed if this makes the new album. Tree, you can now comment on James' voice  Share this post Link to post
Tree 0 Posted September 6, 2006 The second one ( ) wasn't that bad. I can just chalk up my earlier comments to him being tired, or on the bottle, or on something. Besides the "whooooooaoaaaa. WHOOOOOAH, OO WHOAAA", lyrics aren't bad either. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted September 13, 2006 Here is a link to Metallica's other new song with excellent video and audio quality..... Performed in Seoul, Korea on 15/8/2006 Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted September 15, 2006 Aside from Styx and Foriegner, I havent heard a band that is actually really close to having their original voice still. Rush does, but the overal tone of the voice is lower. Share this post Link to post
