Cloning in general i thought would be to get someones DNA and make an exact copy (as in ra2)

 

A twin is never an exact copy of the other is it? Theres always a slight difference.

I think your misconception about the 'slight difference' might be due to the fact that identical twins can often look different. This is not due to differences in genotype (DNA) - it's identical for both of them.

 

Phenotypes are different *physical* expressions of DNA, such as fingerprints and general physical appearance. They are not completely determined by genetics, but also by interaction with the womb in early development (for example). As the twins are seperate entities in the womb, they have slightly different prenatal experiences, and thus different phenotypes.

shocker just explained that the phenotypes will evolve diffrently no matter what, and since we have yet to create an artificial womb with all possible variables covered, we cannot create exact clones(down to fingerprints and the minor variations in limb length etc...) them since we continue to rely on gestation within an actual womb.

Be nasty... I've heard about a sheep they cloned that had five legs. One was kinda of on the side. Didn't hurt though. Cloning... can be good, can be bad... very bad

Well, Generals is a good one for me, with exception of a missing storyline. TS... has a better storyline and thats about it
