While I wait for it to download ... ( question )

I'm currently downloading a free FPS game called War Rock 1 ... because I love FPS, and I love free things. Download.com never gives me more than around 70kps, even though I have a connection that averages at 9mps. So it'll be an hour or so.

 

Has anyone ever played this game before? Is it any good?

 

It looks Quake3ey. ( Quake 3 is now an adjective. )

Quake3ey it is not! It has just downloaded and is installing, and I wikipedia'd it. It looks very much like America's Army. I am pretty good at that game but it gets old after a few days or weeks. It looks less like the Quake 2/Quake 3/Unreal Tournament gameplay that I like and more like the Tom Clancy/Medal of Honor/America's Army gameplay that I seem to suck at, but still like.

 

It might also be like Halo or Renegade. Kind of a mix of the two.

Anyway, looks interesting, even if the first impression I get is that it's a Battlefield 2 Clone. I think I'll give it a go ya know. Even if I won't shell out a penny for the extras.

 

A 377 Mb Download isn't bad either. And the best thing is, the recommended specs actually match my system for once.

It should run C&C 3, even if it's just on minimum, it'll get me by until I get some money for a new rig. :wink:

 

And I've had a go at this game now. Definitely seems like a free Battlefield 2 clone with a huge arcade feel to it. Quite amusing really cos I'm landing jets on mountains to catch bases

To be honest if you haven't got Battlefield 2, I suggest ya pick that up instead. It's a hell of a lot more fun and increasingly more enjoyable.
