Guest HelpPLeasE Posted December 24, 2003 Ok, i just downloaded the 1.01 patch for ZeroHour, and installed the it. I tried to run the game and it came up and said Serious Error, May be caused by viruses, over heated hardware or hardware that isnt cappatible with the game. I also downloaded the latest drivers for my video card at nvidia.com. System SPECS. Amd Athlon 1.8Ghz 256 DDR Ram GeForce 2 MX Video Card Direct X9.0 Windows XP EDIT: This happened right after i installed the 1.01 patch. And 5 minutes before i installed it i was playing it fine. The background action on the main menu, the land was turning black and graphics were messing up. Share this post Link to post
Guest jturk3 Posted December 25, 2003 If its the serious error that I got its probably overheated hardware. I've had that a few times because my processor is running to hot. Its usually after at least I finish one skirmish and start another one. My Specs: 2.0G mobile pentium 4 512MB Mem. 64MB radeon vid WinXP DirectX 9.0 Share this post Link to post
osey 2003 0 Posted December 25, 2003 I think when your processor overheats your computer crashes or restarts again then bleeps 6 times to tell you there is a hardware problem it could be your video card try re-instaling zerohour again if you get no result it is a hardware problem and not just with the zerohour software you should try getting cooling for your computer or replace the hardware thats all i can think of! good luck and merry x-mas! Guest rchandra Posted December 29, 2003 I don't think that the errors always caused by the overheated hardware. When I played the 1.00 version, after several minutes, i got errors but when I updated to 1.02, I didn't get it. But in 1.02, when I wanted to play multiplayer i got that errors. I don't know why and i don't think that is caused by overheated hardware. Share this post Link to post
Guest jturk3 Posted December 29, 2003 I only say mines from overheating, because i would play for 3 hours. usually on my second skirmish map. Share this post Link to post
Guest rchandra Posted December 30, 2003 Okay, yours is caused by overheated hardware. I have another serious problem. Sometime I tried to play Generals Zero Hour online, but it suddenly went back to Windows and it got serious errors. Do you know why it occured ? Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted December 30, 2003 When the game crashes you can look at the file called ReleaseCrashInfo.txt. This file is located in the My DocumentsCommand and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data. To most people this file is rather criptic and makes no sense but it may give you clues as what cause the problem. Share this post Link to post
Koen 2 Posted December 30, 2003 My personal opinion: the game should really get a file integrity checker. If one of the movie files from the briefings is damaged, then it crashes while playing them. That's good for stability :S When reinstalling the game, file contents which do not match the correct installation files' content will be reinstalled, and then patching again can solve problems for some people. But only if your harddisk isn't very reliable will this work. What I'm saying is: for some people, problems occur because files are damaged on their harddisk, but the problem with the game is that it gives just one and the same error for almost everything.
