TheBlackOut 7 Posted November 26, 2006 I hope they have a lot of close urban combat situations, don't you? I don't mean like the cities we've already seen, I mean like a big city or a cramped one, like New York City. You know, some building so tall that your airplanes and helos get confused and turn back without being told to or crash into the high buildings while trying to get where you want. Tanks rolling down the street smashing cars while the infantry garrisons in buildings. Agree or disagree? Share this post Link to post
Mario 0 Posted November 26, 2006 yeah that'd be pretty cool as for garrisoning buildings i dont see why not since you can in TS Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted November 26, 2006 So you want a future New York City with the ability to crash aircraft into tall buildings? I doubt EA will put something like that in to the game. To many 9/11 related and real world event plagued Generals, we don't anything like that for C&C 3. Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted November 27, 2006 So you want a future New York City with the ability to crash aircraft into tall buildings? I doubt EA will put something like that in to the game. To many 9/11 related and real world event plagued Generals, we don't anything like that for C&C 3. Not like continental airplanes, but you know, the orcas trying to manuver in a city? Thats impossible. You'd either have to go really slow (risk being attacked easier) or crash basically. So if you order your aircrafts into a large urban area with tons of attenas and tall buildings and order them to attack the ground units on the streets, I'd expect them to crash. I mean it'd be hard weaver in and out of a city. Sorry but its my take, it'd be realistic. There's a war and its mutating humans and you can't have orcas crash into buildings? Oohhh yea, 9/11 related. But if someone really wanted to, they could say Nod mutating and testing on humans is like the Nazis with the Jews. Okay, then here's another idea: City with tall buildings.. make tall buildings have sniper bonuses. Tall buildings are great for snipers, so it'd be realistic. I hope they put something like CoH (company of heroes) has for cover. But instead of the good cover and bad cover, its just cover. Behind concrete barriers, etc Edit: Also the ability bit.. No, I don't. I don't want where you can purposely crash something, but seriously, realistic an orca could probably not weave in and out of a city like NYC without bailing or crashing. Also they don't have to collapse, but damage them. I mean what if they put tall buildings in there? If we choose to blow them up, they'll collapse anyways. So big whoop if its a orca that does it. rEdaSbLood 1 Posted November 27, 2006 an orca could most likely weave in a city like nyc.. garrisoning is an awesome idea..they should definitely do urban combat nicely. cover as in emperor was really cool they should use that too.. if the orca couldnt by chance handle a city like nyc then it should be impassable terrain for them..as in u cannot order them into it.. what i think also is, that a city like nyc would be non-existant or barron in the future Share this post Link to post
TheRoadToDawn 0 Posted November 28, 2006 I am a strong supporter of urban combat. Everytime im playin C&C, its always in an urban enviroment. I am also a person who was DEEPLY affected during 9-11 and had family linked to the disaster (no deaths thank god). In middle school during 9-11, despite my FIRST football game was canceled, the tragic events opened my eyes on to how screwd up the world is (i want 2 say somethin else...). But please dont compare C&C urban combat to 9-11. C&C is suppose to be a fun game filled with creative ideas to crush your enemy, even if it was in New York or Washington DC. In RA2, we had urban combat in famous cities, and despite the fact it was released BEFORE 9-11, Westwood had no intentions of creating a game that would lead to real life tragedy. So lets continue that tradition of thought and have fun of whats to come in :cnc3: . Share this post Link to post
Woofna 0 Posted December 4, 2006 Point of interest ... Orcas, as in the ones that were made in TD, were the most maneuverable craft produced by mankind when they came into being. Have you seen the canyon chase video? Orcas should have no problem in tight spots like you described. The Orca gunships I've seen thus far have tiny engines and look like they'll have lost a great deal of manueverability and speed compared to the TD Orca. But I am STILL holding my hopes high that the "Orca Scout" we've yet to see will more resemble my favorite design. <--- Also, Nod's Venom scout looks to resemble an Orca (more than the orcas themselves do) and is probably equally as manueverable. And ... about resembling 9-11 ... if we allow terroristic acts of past to cause us to not make a good feature in a game, then the terrorists win, yeah? Don't give them that power. Don't give them that power. Exactly! Also last I checked, Nod IS A TERRORIST GROUP! A very big and powerful one, but it STILL is. Also I do see cities like this in the future, run down, not in order, but there, nonetheless. Share this post Link to post
Guest Maul Posted December 8, 2006 that was the only thing i didnt realy like about tiberian sun the lack of proper cities and buildings and not being able to garrison  Share this post Link to post
