SSTG 0 Posted February 8, 2007 I got generals installed today for something to do but I'm wondering if the frame skippage I'm experiencing is from the game or my PC I have plenty of memory etc it just skips for like 15 mins after going excellently smoothly during the game it snaps out of it but goes back into the frame skippage does this happen to all generals games or is it just my PC? Thierry 0 Posted February 8, 2007 Depends, the AI in the game is pretty stupid, it tries to force its units through alot of objects in the game, large maps like Twilight Flame with a couple AI's will lag on any computer after a while. Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted February 9, 2007 All drivers up to date right? Either something in your computer isn't up to pare (video card, CPU, but I guess not RAM since you say tons of memory) or overheating. Is your case well ventilated? Nothing in the way of fans or not enough? Does it do anything like this is any games similar or better graphics than Generals? Share this post Link to post
SSTG 0 Posted February 10, 2007 I actually use a laptop sorry for confusion I unloaded some stuff to my new external harddrive and ran it again ethier it was the laptops's lack of memory or I was blocking the fan to cool it down but trying it out again I had no hiccups in the lag I was impressed on how smooth it went I have'nt played a generals game like that when I brought TFD I'm tempted to play some more later now! TheBlackOut 7 Posted February 11, 2007 Probably your hard drive is either really slow (though most hard drives made within a 1-2 year period won't lag that bad as you made it sound) or the hard drive was heating like crazy. Laptops aren't usually gaming machines, and if they can handle the game, it usually heats the lappy up something fierce. Well have fun. Sonic 295 Posted February 11, 2007 Probably just a total lack of video power in your laptop. What sort of video system do you have? Share this post Link to post
