TheRoadToDawn 0 Posted February 18, 2007 I was playing C&C TD against my dad, I used a nuke against his base, then all of a sudden the hole house shakes and a roar rips through the neighborhood. It gets louder and louder as me and my dad go outside. I swear it sounded like an airplane was about to hit the house. It was then that we saw smoke rise right around my old high school, Langham Creek. My dad figured that it was a pipe line and the news confirmed it. I went to the high school and got a shot of it with my camera phone. I stayed for 5 minutes and the flames reached a little higher, due to the gas burning. Its 9:07 now and the fire is undercontrol, but it was that time when i wished i had my good camera. The good part is that it looks like things are under control, the bad is that dad destroyed my base when I got home. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted February 18, 2007 You need a better cellphone. lol... But still nasty... Share this post Link to post
TheRoadToDawn 0 Posted February 18, 2007 You need a better cellphone. lol... But still nasty... The funny thing about the situation is that everyone was trying to get to that one location to see what the ruckus was about. All the roads started to fill and i couldnt go back for my camera, so yeah I had to use the cellphone. The flames shot maybe about a mile in the air. http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=...&id=5044193 Go there to read the full story. Click on view photos to see the fire. Apparently some construction crew tore the gas pipe at 2:00, left the bulldozer going, and didnt bother to report it. How stupid can you get!!! Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted February 18, 2007 That's nothing. A chemical plant exploded and the fires raged for well over a day and that was only 25 minutes or so from my place of employment. I think the area's still cordoned off to the public. Share this post Link to post
Wildshield 0 Posted February 18, 2007 That's so sad about your base... you had them beat nuke and all. Hopefully no one was hurt in the blast. We have had an event like this as well a day or so ago. A home owner tapped into the main gas line and took upon himself to lite it. Causing a big blast and effecting many homes near by where the pipe ran under. Now I'm hearing that the owner did it on purpose. All the homes that were effected by the blast have been declared unfit to live inside. The foundation and structure for them all is so bad that they must be rebuilt from the ground up. I`m sure the guy will get arson and maybe attempted manslaughter. Share this post Link to post

TheRoadToDawn 0 Posted February 18, 2007 Im just glad that the pipe did not blow up in a domino effect. The pipe that they are referring to runs about a mile close to my house. Its over near our YMCA facility so if that thing went of, it would be raining workout machines, weights, and basketball courts all over the houses. Luckly tho, It wasn't as bad as it could have been. Say if that bulldozer left his engine off, the gas would have spread even further until it was ignited. Now thats a worst case situation. I'm glad nothing goes boom were I live. You live in Kiwi Land, the most boring place on Earth. The term is tranquil... Share this post Link to post
