mormreed 0 Posted June 4, 2007 I'm not trying to spam anything here but if you live in the US call your senators and tell them to vote yes (if you listen to or like internet radio), the bill Congress is debating will keep royalty rates at the current level and save many internet radio stations check out the details at http://www.savenetradio.org/index.html go ahead and delete this if you must Share this post Link to post
Mighty BOB! 5 Posted June 5, 2007 There are also emails and petitions floating around somewhere. Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted June 5, 2007 It is an interesting point, but even though I listen to net radio, you have to ask what are the telecasters themselves doing? Are they actually taking steps to raise the funds, or are they just sitting and waiting to hope something saves them? I don't really have any major concerns over this. All internet radio I listen to are from actual radio stations which broadcast over standard FM frequencies to homes, workplaces and people's cars. Internet stations have to accept that the internet comes at a price. It's the same when Sonic pays for the domains of the sites, or Revora have to fork out money for servers to host us. Nothing comes for free in this world, and people have to accept that I'm afraid. Share this post Link to post
mormreed 0 Posted June 5, 2007 Well, I interpreted that as you said you don't care because you don't listen to them (except for ones you could listen to on a regular radio). Go ahead and not care, but internet radio is an awesome resource for indie music and a great way for indie bands to get the word out. These broadcasters could put ads on their stations but it is likely only the top stations would have potential customers. So most of those indie stations would dry up and you could miss some potentially awesome up and coming talent. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 42 Posted June 5, 2007 I'm with Saracen on this one. **** ain't free; people need to learn that. Share this post Link to post

mormreed 0 Posted June 12, 2007 we got some pretty great rock stations around here, just on Sundays it's pretty hard to find anything good because the best one goes off the air and lets some Gospel music thing come on before I knew this I turned to it one Sunday and just thought "wtf are these people thinking? this is a rock station" when I went back later and the same s*** was on i put 2 and 2 together... Azrael 0 Posted June 16, 2007 Too bad. Internet radio isn't always good, but neither is it always bad. But anyway, for indie bands, they can distribute freely on the p2p networks, no problem for them... Share this post Link to post
