BRING BACK THE JUKEBOX!

Recommended Posts

how many of u guys miss the jukebox? wasnt it cool the way u could choose whatever u wanted to play? I mean, i'm tired of hearing that fast blam blam stuff every time i blow something up in C&C3. I mean, sometimes u just wanna keep the music slow and mysterious the entire game up until the point that ur in a position to roll down ur opponent. i kind of miss that, so , APOC , if ur reading this please BRING BACK THE JUKEBOX!!! Or maybe include an option that lets u toggle it on or off. and add a playlist editor... that 'd be sweet.

I miss the friggin jukebox more than expansion itself!

If costumizable jukebox would be made I would defenatly cry of happyness!

Its just a beutyfull detail that EA somehow didn't see.

Need for speed has jukebox. Why not C&C? I mean it was there in original!?

First of all C&C needs some decent music to back up the use of a jukebox.

I'm just waiting for Universe at War, since Frank Klepacki is doing the tracks for this game, it already sports a jukebox. so I'll be looking forward to using it when the Beta arrives on the 29th

Indeed.

Besides that atmospheric music isn't something you'd really listen to by itself anyway.

yeh.

And it gets very annoying when the same dull loop has been played for hours.

Just like Generals!

The way I see it, EA have a list of people to choose from:

Personally since Frank Klepacki (Petroglyph) Jeehun Hwang (Activision) and Glenn Stafford (Blizzard) are out of the equation. The only realistic option would be for EA to Approach Nimrod Productions. They're a pretty solid bunch of talented composers.

Failing that, there's Hannigan James, he's worked with EA in the past, and has done the soundtrack to Conquest: Frontier wars. Not too bad a composer actually, he has some style. Show this guy some of Klepacki's work, I'd imagine he'd bring out something inspired by it.

Nah, EA can just go out and buy out Petrolygph, shut them down, or consolidate them whatever they want to do, and get Frank doing what he does best, for C&C3.:P

Two words..... well names actually. And these two names equals one man.

Jarrid Mendelson. He worked with Frank on the TS soundtrack.

yes I believe so.

EA is the biggest video game company.

They should buy Petro before its too late, like Blizzard.

Do you really want me to come to Denmark and slap you?

Petro is a new company founded by the staff at Westwood who bailed out of EA's employment clutches. Petroglyph is Sega property right now, and I highly doubt they'll wanna let Petroglyph go at all. The publishing contract between the 2 companies is around 3 titles, but (dependant on Universe at Wars success) Petroglyph have expressed interest in renewing the contract to remake some classic Sega titles from the Genesis and Saturn consoles, as well as many other RTS titles in the future.

Do you relly want me to come all the way to The Destroyed Homeworld of Novus Prime to slap you back?

Sega would let go of Petro, its just a matter of $$$.

Kinda like Microsoft bought up everything to stay the greatest.

Its the same principles.

There are laws in business that prevent that sort of malpractice. You can't just go around buying companies unless:

A) The larger company owns shares of at least 45-60% of the company to make a takeover bid.

B) The company should display signs of serious financial problems over at least 2 fiscal years and also show evidence of serious internal issues within that company.

C) The company requests ownership by it's CEO/President by selling the company and its products to the highest bidder.

I can't remember the actual terms, but those 3 points are within the laws of business which prevent single tracked monopoly. If EA wants to destroy Petroglyph, then they will have to cripple their sales by purposely releasing titles as close as possible to their release dates while single-handedly targeting the same market. This would have to be done across 2 or 3 titles so that Sega would eventually drop them and make them wriggle around looking for a new publisher. That's when EA could move in and take them then consuming them.

But 90% of the Petroglyph staff would bail immediately, cos to be honest, they'd just be wasting their talent in a company like EA. And to be honest Mike Legg would rather just sell the Franchise and cancel all projects just to get his company away from a takeover. They've been through it once. And they have that never again attitude.

Youre right, But Microsoft has been doing this, since they began.

And that is how they got so huge. By simply buying everything!

Ofcoures they got fines for breaking international buisness laws.

But with "unlimited amount of cash" that is not a problem.

I remember Microsoft paying a fine of 50 million dollars.

Im not saying that EA would or has the ability to do this, But when the right time is there Petro is all EA's

But I bet it's cheaper to hire Frankie instead of buying out his boss :D
