first decade and using mods

i have a question....can you use mods with First Decade, i mean with the individual game that the mod is for, or is it impossible to do so due to all the games being on the single dvd. cause i thought if i bought the FD i could throw/sell the original games, but if i cant use a specific mod for a certain game, i might as well keep them. i am confused, please so one help me out....

All mods should work for TFD and the original discs. You should have no problems getting any to work. There might be a few out there with specific installers but those are few and even those should detect the right location.

About the locations, Patch 1.02 fixed it so the installation registry's where copied to SOFTWARE/Westwood, just like the orignal games. Install that and you should have no problem with the installation of mods.
