Azrael 0 Posted December 9, 2007 It's Philippine tradition. Anyway, there's also Misa De Gallo, which is a mass held at dawn... As for temperature, we avergae about 20-30 degrees celcius at day... At night we don't go below 17... And it NEVER snows here... Share this post Link to post
Alphabear 13 Posted December 9, 2007 Are you implying that Christmas is only for white people? We're multi-everything yet I won't celebrate Judaism's Hanukkah's or Islam's Eid. Seems weird to me since Christmas is celebrating the birth of Jesus. The other two major religion's holidays celebrate something for their own religion. I don't see why you would celebrate Jesus's birth if you don't even believe in it... Unless you like presents that much. Actually it is very unlikely that he was born on the 25th of December. It is celebrated on this day because it coincides with other religious and cultural traditions celebrations, in large part a Pagan Winter Festival. Share this post Link to post

I didn't actually say the day of his birth. But hey, if I was Buddhist or something, guess I could celebrate and try and squeeze out a few presents anyways. Share this post Link to post
JahSpoR 0 Posted December 9, 2007 It obivously doesn't have anything to do with ppl discussing religion and skin color Share this post Link to post
Louis EX 0 Posted December 9, 2007 You don't need to be a Christian to celebrate Christmas. Singapore is a multi-racial country, we can celebrate each race's holiday. It's 75F (24C) right now in the dead of winter. How could you resist, with all the decorations and music outside. Its so alive outside. I'm a buddhist but I'm not a really religious person. Anyway I don't get any presents out of this, so don't make it sound like I'm some jerk who just wants presents >_>. Actually I'm in a choir, they're making us sing christmas songs in some shopping malls and stuff. Our choir consists of muslims, christians and buddhists. Next year we'll be singing chinese songs for Chinese New Year. So yeah. Singapore really has this multi-thing going. Share this post Link to post
