Guest AcidChrist Posted February 19, 2004 OK, Here's the problem...I want to use mods but can't play online with them unless I'm playing against someone with the same mods installed since mods change the version. Yet, a few times I've played online I've been wiped out within the first few minutes by people using fighter jets, bombers, and other attack methods which usually take some time to build up. How is it that I'm getting obliterated so quickly if my opponent is not using mods or some other form of cheat? I just played a game where my opponent sent in 4 fighter jets, 3 humvees, and about 10 rocket soldiers after only playing 3-4 minutes...All I had time to build was one power source, a supply center, and a barracks with 3 regular infantry soldiers. What's the deal? Also, if anyone can tell me exactly where to get any mods or other cheat devices that can be used online or during network play I would appreciate it. Thanks. chickendippers 1 Posted February 19, 2004 1. Do NOT come here asking for cheats - not only do we not know of any, but everyone here condems cheating. 2. I suspect that you are simply being out-built, try practicing against the AI (or even in sandbox mode) just building your base as quickly as possible. Share this post Link to post
Guest AcidChrist Posted February 19, 2004 Ya know, There's a right way and a wrong way of responding to a simple question. You don't have to be such a condescending ass about it. I am well aware of HOW to play the game as well as the need to build fast. The scenerio which I described in my original post however is CLEARLY not a matter of just building fast. To have that kind of firepower so quickly (within first 4 minutes of gameplay) is absolutely ridiculous and clearly NOT "honest" playing without the use of mods or cheats. As for you "condemning cheating" you are entitled to your own opinion, but don't take a Holier than thou attitude with people just because they ASK. These people are NOT cheating, they just know the shortcuts to building their bases fast and moving up the tech tree. One secret is the keyboard shortcuts, less mouse clicking and moving around the map. If there were any cheats the speed up the building time of bases we would have heard about it by now. The other thing is if they had some sort mod cheat installed that modified the games files you wouldn't be able connect with to play anyway. On top of that, if you modify build speed on just one PC and get the game to work, then you'd get "Game out of Sync" errors. So they probably are very skilled with the keyboard.
