Teabag 0 Posted September 25, 2003 Hi all. New here and don't usually bother with forums but have to have a moan so joined. Don't worry, I am not going to moan about CNCNZ because in my opinion it is the best one. I've emailed Sonic a couple of times and he always replies unlike some other guys. My main moan is about links to other sites on other sites if you know what I am trying to say. For example, there is a link to generalsmaps. Now you would think with a name like that, it would be a site with Generals maps to download. Well in the first place, according to what I read, you have to register to download maps. WHY? This site doesn't do that, Lion's site doesn't make you do that. Anyway, there are no maps on it, so what is the point? Perhaps I am being a little hard on them, maybe it is new and they are just getting their act together but come on, why have a link when the site is not working properly? I am one of those funny types of guy who reports broken links. Most of the time, the people I report to never bother to acknowledge. (Sonic to his credit does). I appreciate all the work that map makers and web builders do and wouldn't know the first place to start myself but if you are going to run a site, run it professionally like this one. Make it idiot friendly as well. God knows I am an idiot! Moan over. Thanks folks. Teabag Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted September 26, 2003 Hi Teabag. Its alway good to have a moan  Anyway. I can tell you that you will never have to register to get your Generals or Zero Hour maps from us. I hate going to site to download file only to find out that I have register  When I can see that registering serves no purpose. We at CNCNZ.com don't do it, Lion on the Den site doesn't do it either because we are old school sites. We don't need all the registering to download crap here. Infact Teabag you have done all the registering you need to do at CNCNZ.com by joining our forums  Share this post Link to post
ruthless.com 0 Posted September 26, 2003 yeah its true plus we'd have a million registers and no one posting... Share this post Link to post

Teabag 0 Posted October 12, 2003 And yet another moan. Okay I was a soldier once and know that most modern wars are fought at night but I hate night maps. I only play skirmish and as I am getting older, it drives me mad not being able to see things. At least could the map makers state that it is a night map before I download it and then set up to play, only to say no thanks and exit sharply. Night vision goggles anyone? Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted October 12, 2003 Umm.... Why don't just adjust your screen contrast and brightness levels? Or just adjust the lighting in the map? Night vision goggles wouldn't help you mate. And besides you'd look like a total tosser siting in front a computer with those on. Share this post Link to post

Guest Disposable Hero Posted October 13, 2003 If it's to dark, open it in WorldBuilder, Hit Ctrl+D untill your happy, Save and voila...a lot quicker then complaining about it..... Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted October 14, 2003 i didnt like those maps they were just too... hmm unrealistic? boring? no good landscape? Pick one No one said you had to like them. The fact that they are different to other maps sets them apart. Makes change from the same old urban, forest, tropic, desert maps that we have. I like to call then novelty maps  -unrealistic? Yes, I'll give you that but its intentionally unrealistic. When they were made it was never Disposable Hero's thought to imply that they were realistic. -boring? Well if you play on game them its no diffrent to any other map really. -no good landscape? The landscape is meant to be different, its called trying other things. Share this post Link to post
