What mobile device do you currently use?
Doctor Destiny replied to PurpleGaga27's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I have a Lumia 810 for my smartphone needs. And yes, I finally have a smartphone. I replaced that dinosaur of a flip phone I was using before. And yes, that is a Windows Phone. I don't follow this trendy Android or iOS nonsense. And for music on the go, I have a Zune 30GB. I don't do much with it except for music, but it runs really well for that. -
Well. That did the trick. The game is running just fine now. Sweet.

I recently reinstall Renegade to have some fun with the campaign but it doesn't want to work. I have Renegade displaying fine, but when I go to load the campaign, the game just closes itself and won't load. I set game.exe and renegade.exe to both run as admin and set them both to XP SP2 compatibility, but it doesn't work. If it's relevant, I play it in a window but I don't think that should matter. And yes, my install is legitimate. Don't even start with that. Anyway, how do I get this game rolling so I can murder some Nod bad guys?

I can get the TT Scripts but I can't download Core Patch 2 or its patcher EXE. The download links to Renguard and it gives me connection errors so whatever it's looking for is inaccessible.
-
I have it patched but I guess I'll be trying the Core Patches next. That would probably be what I need. [EDIT] I would install them but every damn download link I find is dead. Anyone got the patcher and Core Patch 2 full?

TS/RA2/YR Windows 8 Menu bug - not refreshing
Doctor Destiny replied to neogrant's topic in Red Alert 2 / Yuri's Revenge
That's how I got Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 to run under Windows 8. I had to force a window but other than that, the games play spectacularly. -

Adobe Creative Suite 2 for free, temporarily
Doctor Destiny replied to PurpleGaga27's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Same with me. I use CS products once and a great while though. -
Deleted the trolling, flamebait nonsense. Carry on everyone else.

I'm not too keen on this whole thing already. I don't like the idea of someone else controlling my purchases. I still dislike Steam for this very reason so the Steam Box gets a big, fat no from me.
-
It's actually pretty simple. There's instructions for doing all of those things everywhere.
-
Install Linux on VM, install Apache, PHP and mySQL, install Wiki onto that, use localhost, done.

error playing custom matches
Doctor Destiny replied to domination01's topic in Tech Discussion & Support
I'd examine the except but it's crashing outside RA2's normal range. Have you tried using Windows 98/ME compatibility yet? If that doesn't work, test your RAM with something like memtest86. -

Windows XP cannot read Blu-ray discs
Doctor Destiny replied to PurpleGaga27's topic in Tech Discussion & Support
I'd deal with that and let it go. -
Probably not for a while since heat dispersion is a big issue with Intel CPUs. They just run warmer.

Windows XP cannot read Blu-ray discs
Doctor Destiny replied to PurpleGaga27's topic in Tech Discussion & Support
Because of funky jazz, BluRay doesn't work properly under Windows XP and I cannot find a reason why this is the case nor any reliable fixes. You'll need software for playback like PowerDVD and a dedicated piece of software for reading and burning. I found UDF Reader that's for XP so you might give that a run since it's freeware at least. -
Tiberium Twinkle
Doctor Destiny replied to Goldobsidian0100's topic in Tiberian Sun / Firestorm Maps & Modding
It looks like you need to pull them from Red Alert then convert them into the TS animation palette. You can just use the OS SHP Builder for the SHP work. http://www.cncnz.com/downloads/assortedcnc/utilities/#8 -
Been rocking some Team Fortress 2 and I just got ahold of Counterstrike: Global Offensive finally. That **** is fun.
