As i mentioned somewhere, game is too focused on "scissors-rock-paper" system. Every unit have counter unit... that doesn't work that way. Just look over Blizzard games (such as WarCraft III or StarCraft I / II), or older C&C titles (like C&C: Generals + add-on). Although game is not that bad - is just crappy designed.

If it is so "passe" Blizzard should abandon StarCraft 2 in current concept and reorganise whole game to non-base strategy... i don't want to know what Koreans would do with them if they would do that.

So far i may say one thing: In skirmish mode game never slowed down. GJ

Damn it, ( ) but we must remember why this game had so good sales. Mostly by great actors like Michael Beihn or James Earl Jones. They significantly "capped" this title up. You won't find any known actor / actress in C&C4 (except Kane for C&C community).

@BigJoe Sad, but true... I played only for about 10 minutes and get bored. Game doesn't explains why i have to upgrade buildings (did C&C buildings ever get upgrades?), how i am collecting resources, and how to the hell harvesters collect their tiberium w/o refinery?! Battle system is interesting, but all sounds in my Internet Explorer 64-bit are screwed. I hear only last words of EVA, so when i finish building it is like: "...lete". Maybe when they complete this game....

Does it works with mods?

Game mechanics for multiplayer game were the same - for each battle you gain "points", which you may change for new units / upgrades etc. Nevertheless the game gone through great gameplay changes for accomodation in single player campaign. Even in your link it has been said, that there are rumors about initial concept for C&C 4 made in "C&C Arena". Maybe just for few weeks it was in top charts, BUT i don't know any other C&C game being on top for few weeks.

Ask EA why they changed their minds about this title, why one day it was "C&C Arena" and next it became "C&C4". Remember that this part was best sold C&C ever (according to http://forums.cncnz.com/topic/13507-command-conquer-4-tops-sales-charts/). We may say many things about this game, but it has more multiplayer players than all parts together.

Always you may use aplication called "CPU-Z" to check mainboards name.

As i remember there were plenty of bugs in custom map games where player could have been disconnected or kicked by "internal fail" of the game.

Generals stands on GameSpy servers. If you are using router try to port forward. How? Go here click on the 'Routers" bookmark and find your router there. Rest is simple as pee. Moreover if you have GameSpy account on which you are using same e-mail adress, you have to use the same e-mail to log-in. Otherwise just create new account on new e-mail, that's all.

It's not that bad - just plot is a crap. Multiplayer is even good but it's depending too much on "versus system". Would be a good spin-off for e-sport community, but as always...EA never support their games longer than few months.
