RA3 Unit Profile - Soviet Conscript

We have looked at the Allied Peacekeeper, now its time to take a closer look at the Soviet Conscript, because its the latest unit to profiled on the Official Red Alert 3 Site. Check out the concept art and a sample of the profile below.

Drafted by the millions, conscripts are conditioned from a very young age--long before their conscription, in fact--to believe in the inevitable victory and greater glory of the Soviet fight against its conniving enemies. Conscripts are also promised handsome rewards upon completing tours of duty, which is all the more reason why they approach what turns out to be a nearly suicidal undertaking with an almost-giddy enthusiasm. Though poorly trained, they are armed with high-caliber assault rifles, as well as satchels filled with a highly volatile, cheaply-produced concoction that's serviceable as a basic thrown explosive. Reports of conscripts drinking this substance for pleasure, and subsequently falling ill or dying, are described as patently false by the Soviet media.

Nice animation on the video. I notice the word 'luck' is involved in the clear garrison ability. Perhaps a random success rate is involved here?

 

But the nice animations shows a ridiculously big gun - do you think he's compensating for anything?

As I said how much of the backstory will make it into the game? It would be nice to see the Soviet philosophy of war touched upon.

I don't know, the whole backstory seems a tad extreme to me. Sure you can poke fun, but this just goes over the top and is just weird.

 

I like their secondary ability though. Should be useful for infantry spammers.

Sure beats mind-controlled squid.

 

I'm really, really hoping the garrison combat is more complex. One molotov for one kill?
