As imminent threat of another world war engulfed the Allied nations, military strategists sought to develop preventative measures against Soviet attack. Their plan: to maintain squadrons of long-range bombers in contested airspace literally at all times, such that any Soviet aggression could promptly be countered by bombing runs against high-value Soviet targets. Theoretically, at least, this would make the Soviet Union think twice before overstepping its bounds. Of course, up until recently, the Allies had no aircraft fit for the job, for they needed a long-range bomber with maximum fuel efficiency and good-enough amenities to support an in-flight team for weeks at a time. And after numerous design bids from all around the world, the American-made B2-X Century Bomber emerged as the clear winner, and is now in full production in Allied airbases worldwide.

Click here to read the full Century Bomber profile, including a short video. There will be more unit profiles posted every week on the Official Red Alert 3 Site from now up until the launch of the game.

Well the turn circle after the bombing run leaves a lot to be desired.

But I wonder what the implications of the parachute drop are - did you notice that the three conscripts didn't react to the squad of infantry?

Does that mean the infantry were cloaked (ie snipers) or that the units in RA3 only react to units in their field of vision!?!

This unit will be the bomb.

Sorry. It looks like the Ho XI bomber that was in Medal of Honor. It was a futuristic bomber the Nazis were close to completing.

Well even when I'm an ati-EA C&C fan, I have to say I do like this unit. They seriously have to work on the animations though.

However, if units in RA3 will have only two alternate modes, how come the Century Bomber can carpet bombard, paradrop troops and carry this Jethro Gravity Bomb, aren't those 3 modes?

Well obviously you've played the game, so you're in a better place to make that comment, and I must bow to your wisdom - but all things being equal...

I don't buy the demo explanation.

I guess I just don't see what your seeing, you said the circle after the bombing run leaves a lot to be desired. What's so strange about it? It drops the bombs, turns and continues on it's way.

Oh ok - I'm not buying the demo explanation for the lack of unit response to the paratroopers. If it's intentional - it's very interesting!

(BTW, I don't mind the demo explanation for the 'turn circle'. But it still needs to be pointed out.)
