All that is going to happen is Russia will do their thing, and that will be the end of it. The Yanks won't intervene as it would just escalate the conflict. Besides no one cares about some ****** little nowhere country anyway. The only reason the Yanks are even interested is because of the oil pipeline that runs through the country...

1. Russia would not get owned. They'd lose, but they'd cause deadly losses for NATO, why would NATO care to risk tons of lives over something like this?

2. NATO has no reason to go in because it'd just cause more international trouble.

3. It was Georgia's own damn fault.

4. There's no oil or anything of economic importance.

There is a big fat oil pipeline that goes through the country. Its specifically designed to bypass Russian and Iran... Its always about Oil in the end tbh.

surely NATO will have to get involved sooner or later if it continues... at the moment most nations are just "frowning down" upon russia. but if things get a little out of hand and it gets really over the top, NATO will have to intervene... what good is having a group of countries united to protect eachother if they don't protect? but personally i think it's russia just flexing their muscles as per normal... it's a common thing, russia has been in small conflicts and "incidents" since WW2 xD before the whole georgia thing there were the russian bombers flying over the uk and causing a situation o.o i don't think russia would willingly go into a war against nato or the US... but you never know. we may have a World in Conflict scenario beginning here :3

i didn't know we got -anything- from russia o.O maybe on the continent but i don't think the uk gets anything from russia... we get our oil and stuff from the saudis and things like coal we produce ourselves o.o could be wrong though... but i'm pretty sure the saudi's sell to everyone xD

What do you mean? The pipelines are controlled by Russia, meaning Russia has the upper-hand in negotiating because they can turn off the lights. The pipeline goes into every to like Georgia, Baltics, Continental Europe, and elsewhere. These countries can get involved, sure, but they won't have energy for long if they do.

sucks for you xD just about the only people we can't go to war with are the saudis o.o; though we have peace with europe and are in the EU, we're not so deep in it that we are slaves to it. we could leave anytime we choose to o.O we're doing a favour to them. we take in refugees and immigrants and pay rediculous sums of money to the EU to compensate for the poorer countries o.o; and what do they do for us? they team up against us in the eurovision song contest XD

The U.K. alone can't go against many of the superpowers by itself, that's why you're in NATO and allied with us. No nation would be silly enough to go in alone in wars.

 

And doesn't suck for us, the US buys just a little from Russia. If we got cut off, wouldn't be much off our nose. It would be horrific for Continental Europe, though.

aye, that is true. no nation really tries to go alone and being a small island nation, the uk can't support war for very long. it's why we have such specialized training... if you only have a few guys you might as well have them suped up y'know o.o;

a little conversation i heard before that made me laugh... US general: "we're putting in 40,000 US special forces in iraq... we want you to put in the same amount of SAS" UK general: "that might be a little difficult what with there only being 400 SAS in the world at any one time" x3; i remember hearing that in a documentory before... if it really came down to it, i could probably track down the conversation online. but i'm not gonna bother with that - it's not that much of a main point.

SAS are still the most professional and skilled unit in the world. before the US starts complaining about that, remember that the SAS trained all the US special forces o.o;

but anyway back to the point in hand... the UK has many allies to fall back upon should we need it o.o; one of the reason we're such good buddies with america xD lots of soldiers and tech. and if they screw us over we just withdraw all our engineering... BAE makes at least one part in every american vehicle ; i've probably said all that before somewhere but y'know... seemed remotely appropriate.

anyway my point is that the UK will hopefully never have to go at it alone... even if it's just a tiny island helping us like the falklands, we'll always have at least -one- ally xD

xD ain't that the truth. though in all honesty we could survive without the US. we produce almost all our own economy and military stuff... and we can sure as hell hold our own when it comes to defending o.o we just wouldn't be able to invade anyone xD a lot of the time the US is more of a hinderance. the UK simply can't afford to send masses of troops around the world invading countries... we have to support our own controlled nations o.o; and the UN too... things like Iraq just cost us valuable people which we may need somewhere along the line >.>; also the amount of people going against the invasion caused enough political unrest at home o.o;

Its called a global economy, because, holy ****, ITS A GLOBAL ECONOMY. The entire world is entirely reliant on their neighbours nowadays. Which means any kind of sustained war is going to have noticeable effects on everyone else later on.

 

Don't worry Mina, if the UK gets invaded, I'm sure we'll send the NZRAF to assist... That is, once we get some planes.. haha
