A Lesson on Human Nature

I was talking to my neighbor's little six-year-old girl the other day.

I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up and she replied, 'I

want to be President!'

Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there and they

beamed proudly.

I said, 'That's wonderful! If you were President, what would be the

first thing you would do?'

She replied, 'I'd give houses to all the homeless people.'

'Wow - what a worthy goal,' I told her. 'But, you know, you don't have

to wait until you're President to do that. In fact, you could start

doing that right now! You can come over to my house and mow my yard,

pull weeds, and sweep my sidewalks, and I'll pay you $50. Then, I'll

take you over to the store where this homeless guy hangs out, and you

can give him the $50 to use toward a new house.'

She thought that over for a few seconds, while her parents glared at me.

The little girl then looked me straight in the eye and asked, 'Why

doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay

him the $50?'

I smiled and said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.'

Her folks still aren't talking to me.

I know you non-American people don't care about the party part, but that doesn't just apply in this case...I mean, it just makes sense ;)

It's funny because under a Republican President and Congress most of the "democrat" and "liberal" programs weren't closed down...

You have no sense of humor, TBO.

If it was relevant (years ago, before me and F15, maybe even you cared about politics). If it was relevant... it'd be funny.

Umm, the Republicans held the house 2000 (even way before I believe) till 2006. No big social program closed. Sorry, Republicans did nothing to help decrease spending.

Hey for that time period... 2 of the major branches of power were under the control of one party, Republicans...

They managed to give themselves more vaction time than any congress has ever had in all american History. Lawmakers just started to set up programs, and laws from a dead stop since the "Cleansing" of new elections booting lazy tards from the seats.

I believe congress did that back during during FDR time, and Roosevelt got ****** and gave them all a verbal beating... "Get Back to Work".

This president, well... he enjoyed rum and coke back at the ranch...

But hey, What do I know...

My job is to hold this board hostage...

and kick puppies...

May I request for different "Political Section" instead...

i think this counts as a political section now. or at least, focused on the economy... and i just looked at a news story about lehman brothers taking something like 400-something million dollars from a german bank just before they went bankrupt o.o the aol news page dunno how long that page will stay up for, but my theory is that one of the managers got the money transfered over, then when the place went kaput he/she stole all that money for themselves and are now living in acapoco living off martinis in a luxury villa XD

I have to say, buying out May and Mac was one of the dumbest things the government's done in a while....

"Hey guys, we don't have enough debt; lets go find some new ways to increase it!"

All money has a percentage of debt tied to it. Governments, companies, other banks.. it all comes from places like the Bank of England or the Federal Reserve. The fact is that such high institutions run this planet and call the shots when it comes to an economic crisis. They too can be the ones to stabilise it overnight. It's the same with 1907, 1929 and many other huge economic downturns. If you tighten the money and take it out of the loop, you can crash the markets, as the ruling bank can gain extreme profits from everyone elses misfortune. Release and print more money into the open, encourage spending and economic growth, and the situation gets relieved. At the cost of higher debt.

There used to be thousands of different banking companies in the early 1900's... a good 6 or so recessions later there are only a small handful in each country with more and more banks going Bankrupt or being taken over in every country in the last few months. This will not stop until the economy is under 1 bank and economic world order is achieved. HBOS Lloyds TSB is now the UK's biggest superbank... Scotland's Financial institution has been killed off and the Scottish pound destroyed today... it will keep going and going until each country has their heavyweight. The victor will be the strongest man behind the curtain.

And you wonder why I hate capitalism.... it will one day kill us all.

If the governments interfere with it, yes. Ever hear of a principle called Laissez-faire? ;)

i don't think the banks would be stupid enough to really let us fall into a majorly bad situation o.O it would affect them too... what us is having all the money in the country if no-one else has any money at all? everyone would be out of a job, the system would collapse. all the people in the bank with the money would have to move to another country. and as much as they wanna be rich i don't think any single bank would go THAT far... and if they did there would be a major inquest into it and they'd all be arrested and the government would sort out the crisis somehow o.O

How do you think the wall street crash of 1929 happened then? It was because those who ran the Federal Reserve crashed the stockmarkets. The major Shareholders in these markets are also a major contributor... it was on the news today that here in the UK that traders would sell their shares knowing they would continue to plummet, then buy them back again at a cheaper price for profit, making the situation worse.

That's how the economic crisis works. You exploit the situation to gain money from weaker traders. The Banks and financial institutions do the same to line their pockets. Once enough money has been made and capitalism has screwed us over enough, the exploitation stops, things improve. The cycle will happen again once we're all in a healthy, stable financial standing, and have forgotten it ever happened another 25-30 years down the line.

People are corrupt, governments and banks are run by people. It will always be so, you can’t stop it, you can’t change it. Capitalism is not the problem, people are. Even in anarchy, the same problem would exist, people are corrupt and will always exploit the situation.

Well isn't Anarchy all about exploitation?

I mean Joker is all about it, and he's always smiling...

Me? I like the gasoline and dynamite as well...

I love the fear, everyone is afraid their perfect safe world will slip beneath their feet.

"Oh dear, our bank closed, we have no more money... *sob*"

Who's fault is it, when your faith in money betrays you?

Money is paper after all, and your "stuff" isn't really your "stuff" to begin with....

I know who I am... you can take whatever, I have nothing to lose.

You all, on the other hand sweat bullets, and type concerns on a message board.

I drink to you... bring on tommorrow

It's better to be non-conformist and an individual, than to be a drone which complies to all conditions.

Enough said.

Quite true, except when the non-conformist conforms with the non-conformist society, in which case, they are all non-conformist wannabes conforming to an alternative.

Individuals don't need to be something, they don't need a label. They don't need a system of like-minded 'non-conformists' to back them up.
