Mina Synd 0 Posted November 28, 2008 wow yeah XD exactly like that! i read your comment and was like "...i... don't remember any classical in platoon o.O" and the second it started playing not even five seconds in i was like "ooooh i know this. oh lordie. the horror... the horror D: TEH PURPLE HAZE MAAAAAYUN!" XD; when it comes to any classical pieces though i have to admit i think i like ride of the valkyries in apocalypse now. that has still got to be the most defining attack helicopter moment in all of cinematic history xD ...then again maybe something from duck soup (marx brothers film) XDDDD oh come on. it's pretty much classical... it's black and white XD and it's a war movie. well... war satire comedy XD we're going to war! we're going to war! X3;; meh. you got the 3 stooges, we got the marx brothers. whaddya gonna do? XD ...ice-a cream! gettya tootsie frootsie ice-a cream! XD Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted November 28, 2008 Thanks for the video Saracen. Sadly I never thought Platoon was that good (shoot me) so I don't remember much from it, especially that piece playing anywhere. and lawl, i'm influencing. i saw the beach boys on your list! XD military songs are pretty cool... a lot of soviet songs are awesome o-o the anthem for instance... the chinese one is pretty cool as well. on the subject of german i LOVE the panzerlied yah nothing wrong with classical or opera. i think you'll find a lot of historians and war fanatics listen to opera - especially gamers... for some reason, violent bloody war and opera seem to mix perfectly. kinda strange that ain't it? XD I've always like Beach Boys and that type of music, it wasn't you that influenced me! I never have actually cared for any of the oriental languages so their anthems are kind of "meh" to me. And yes, Panzerlied is great. I love a lot of the Luftwaffe stuff though Yea, I guess they do mix wow yeah XD exactly like that! i read your comment and was like "...i... don't remember any classical in platoon o.O" and the second it started playing not even five seconds in i was like "ooooh i know this. oh lordie. the horror... the horror D: TEH PURPLE HAZE MAAAAAYUN!" XD; when it comes to any classical pieces though i have to admit i think i like ride of the valkyries in apocalypse now. that has still got to be the most defining attack helicopter moment in all of cinematic history xD Wasn't "The horror, the horror" line from Apocalypse Now! and not Platoon? And yea, the Ride of the Valkyries in Apocalypse Now was great Share this post Link to post

Mina Synd 0 Posted December 2, 2008 i heard about that too. my first reaction to seeing the nickelback advert was "what wait? they AREN'T dead? hmm curious" XD this is generally my action a lot when i don't hear about a band for a few years... either that or "i thought they split up after -that- incident..." x3; Share this post Link to post
