CNCNZ.com LiveWire - November 2008

Recommended Posts

Two months in a row for the LiveWire, the November episode is here. Last month's LiveWire has some audio and lighting issues, this episode has improved audio but the lighting, while better, still needs some work. For those who don't know, LiveWire is a quick fast paced show covering selected topics and general updates about CNCNZ.com and the C&C Community. In this edition we look back at the technical problems with October's LiveWire, the launch of Red Alert 3, our Renegade X interview, RA2CE contest review, and we preview the November Roundtable. Simply click on the image below to watch the latest episode.

The main LiveWire index has also been updated. Each episode is now available on a separate page. The old Playlist, featuring all of the episodes back to back, is still available though.

Nice work. Do you film it yourself as well Sonic?

The lighting was quite good this time... doesn't need a massive improvement really. Just a couple of shadows here and there, but unless you're paying massive attention it isn't too bad at all. Audio is tip-top this time, the new mic does wonders.

The only thing now is the confidence, which is improving a lot. I know what it's like trying to talk into a camera having done it myself back in the school days. It was bad enough with the old podcast idea that I piloted a couple of years back now.. I sound like a right drunken pommy! Still do actually.. :P

No the camera does that ;) But yeah I record it myself.

Its as good as I can get the lighting I think. The mic helped but it means recording the audio separately, mixing it with the background music and then trying sync it up with the video.

The problem I have is trying to keep it interesting. I always think to far ahead while recording it, so I get off track a bit. As I mentioned last month I have a list of notes in front of me that I glance at. The thought of messing up is always stuck in my mind so that's what gets conveyed in my voice.

What was missing from this one was the images on the display behind me. My plan for this one was to overlay some images as I move on to different subjects. Windows Movie Maker doesn't let you do that very easily. I've been learning my way around Sony Vegas so once I get to grips with that you will start seeing less of me on camera ;)

I think the way you did it with not having too much on the screen was fine. Perhaps try standing next time though and smile a bit more. Have a few Red Bulls before you start ! :P

Nice, just need to improve the sound. I see your planning on using Sony Vegas, that's great it's one of the best video editing software out there.
