actually i have posted shorter ones before... xD

 

and i'm not gonna retort to that luk3us, i know you are just trying to taunt me into ranting :3

apart from the whole "smallville" teen drama thing it's got going on like so many other shows, half the people can't even act. they've changed the plot somewhat and changed all the characters >->

 

you do NOT do that. a plot UPDATE to some extent if something was proved painfully stupid in the original... but come on. starbuck used to be the coolest character ever. dirk benedict made the character into a LIVING LEGEND. and what did the new show do with it?

 

they turned him into a blonde gun-happy bimbo like the new tanya. that is bone. totally and utterly bone >->

Its called a "reimagined" series. Which means at the core, the stories are the same, but everything else is fair game. I don't think its even fair to compare the two series tbh. One is fun and light hearted. Whilst the other is cold, dark and brutal.

meh. whatever. all i know is me and most of the original series fans' are going to stay loyal >.> the new one just doesn't compare.

 

the main things that peeved me off were the whole starbuck thing and more importantly, the whole "smallville" thing. if i wanted to watch teenage drama i'd look out the window or watch The OC or Hollyoaks xD

 

and the thing is EVERY SINGLE GODDAM SHOW nowadays HAS to be a teen drama. no matter how stupidly complex or random the plotline is, they still convert it into angsty drama. it's boring and repetitive. and it's never even half-decent drama.

 

it's always "heroe's girl see's hero kiss another girl, hero girl gets emo. lots of awkwardness for most of the series before hero finally confesses love for girl and she returns affections, happy end" i mean COME ON. if you are in the middle of a gunfight or are trying to save your best friend from being eaten by a monster, or are defusing a device that will destroy life as we know it, you an your girl aren't gonna sit there giving eachother awkward eyes and asking risque flirty questions are you? XD

 

and it's always something REALLY stupid and petty. i mean if it were a "soap opera" situation where you had slept with two sisters only to discover one was ACTUALLY the other's mom and you'd got them both pregnant, and they were both seperately demanding that you marry them, then i could understand a little bit of a situation were you all in a room together. but there is a time and a place, and it AIN'T in the middle of a kickass sci-fi action scene >->

 

(note most of that rant was aimed at memories i have of the new flash gordon series. i know BSG is nowhere near that bad, but it's the same teen-drama-angst crud... people in their late 20's to as late as mid 40's messing around like schoolkids >-> it is VERY irritating)

i saw a few episodes >-> pilot, the razor thing, a couple of random episodes in the middle. i know a teen angst drama when i see it a mile away >->

 

i mean COME ON. the fall of biohumanoid kind is because some guy let an android seduce him and in turn he helped her screw over the planet? i mean GAH. methinks it was just an excuse to do less work on cgi and props and to add another attractive female (preferably wearing little or no clothes and/or doing naughty things along the way)

 

i have the exact same complaint about terminator 3. i prefer to believe that it never existed, or at least -did- exist but was bad enough to warrent feigned ignorance from me. (terminator 4 in the works ties up the whole series, it is the start of the survival/eradication of mankind... they are gonna have to try REALLY hard to screw it up xD and from what i've seen and heard it's looking awesome so far. but yah, very little happened in T3 that was worthy of mention. you could write the whole movie off in a cliffnote on the wiki history page as "T-800 saves connor and his wife by taking him to safety from the war's beginning"

 

and don't even get me started on the sarah connor chronicles. yet another teen drama (and that one actually has almost-teenagers in it! they are in their early 20's for the mostpart! XD) but yah. the decline in television quality makes me cry. and the writers of these shows have the nerve to go on strike and demand more money?! when they are all basically pumping out the same main story with the ACTUAL show plotline as a sidequest? >_> guh...

That's taking it out of context. The networks were screwing the writers over, though I thought the strike was pathetic and resulted in even more reality shows flooding our planet, the networks' greed caused it.

Indeed, and I can't stand reality shows. A few years ago when they were first surfacing, I didn't mind a couple. But now they are all the same old ****. Horribly, truly horrible. We are indeed entering the Apocalypse.

the only ones i like are "i'm a celebrity, get me out of here" which i generally watch religiously when it's on... aaaan occassionally i'll watch celebrity big brother when it's on. if it's a good celeb i'll watch it every so often. but it's not as entertaining as celebs in a jungle... >.>
