Rise of the Reds 1.0 SWR Edition has been released! Rise of the Reds is a mod for Zero Hour that adds a completely new Russian faction, improved China and US factions, and better and tougher AI for those factions. There are also some fundamental changes to gameplay, such as an AA tier system, that adds more strategic to Air-to-ground and AA combat, as well as a scouting system that encourages the use of recon units.

I tried the mod with their patch 1.01 and their soundtrack. It's a good mod, I love the new textures, layout, red theme, new maps, new effects and new stuff, and not to forget the music is great. The gameplay is somewhat a little different from the original, meaning that different strategies have to be used. I'm a little disappointed because there are 3 factions to choose from in skirmish (USA, China and Russia, removing GLA). I was wondering where is the GLA and the supposedly Euuropean faction? I was also disappointed by the fact that subfactions are gone too. I wish if the modding team have more time perhaps it'll be awesome to add missions? Overall, its a great mod, highly recommended!

They didn't have time to work on the GLA and get it out for Christmas. They'll be fixing up the GLA later.

They're changing the way you choose generals (subfactions) to choosing them in-game after the map loads or something of that sort.

Europe doesn't come until later.
