C&C 4 Beta Update - Waiting for Your Code?

Recommended Posts

APOC has posted an update on the Official C&C Forums about when certain people can expect to receive their codes for access into in the Command & Conquer 4 beta.

Hey everyone,

I know there are some questions and concerns as to how you can get in the C&C 4 beta, and more importantly when. So I will try and fill you on the exact details and keep this short and sweet.

If you are a Red Alert 3 Premier Edition owner

If you registered your RA3 Premier Edition code, then you are on our list of RA3 Premier owners who will be activated for the C&C 4 Beta starting tomorrow (Tuesday). We every Tuesday/Thursday going forward we will open up a larger amount of spots in our C&C 4 beta queue for RA3 Premier Edition owners. A communication will be on our website to inform you, all you will need to do is login in to our site, instructions will be provided, and if you made it in our queue, you'll be in instantly. The number we let in every Tuesday/Thursday will be in the thousands and grow quickly, so do not worry. I am certain everyone who is concerned on these forums will be amongst the first. That starts tomorrow (Tuesday), keep your eyes peeled on our webiste.

If you pre-order Command & Conquer 4

If you pre-order C&C 4 from any of our current supporting online retailers - EA Store, Direct2Drive, Amazon (Germany only), they should send you your promotional code quickly. We have zero control over the retailers, but they have all committed to distributing codes quick. If you bought RA3 Premier, and don't want to wait until tomorrow or for some reason miss the queue before it fills up, you can pre-order C&C 4 and get in. Or, if you didn't buy RA3 Premier, you can pre-order C&C 4 and get in the Beta. Its extremely simple.

If you are a Total Access subscriber on Gamespot

You can in to the C&C 4 beta near instantly. This is a special program Gamespot desired to setup with us, and Gamespot being a massive venue for gamers, we'd be crazy to deny =) That said, we are focusing on getting in RA3 Premier Edition members quickly. We always knew the two programs would clash in close timing.

If you won the Name the Game, Name that Unit contest or another C&C 4 beta contest

You will be let in this week as well.

So, all the above is the process by which YOU can get in to the C&C 4 Beta. I expect anyone on these forums who wants to be in the C&C 4 Beta now, should be by the end of this week via any of the above processes. We will do our best to accommodate in a timely manner. See you in there.

Name contest winners will get their codes the last. Money talks.

RA3 PE owners should get in before the contest winners. At least that's how I'd arrange it.

Did we ever find out who won the Mutant Bus competition?

Don't know won. But the name is the "Scavenger".

I was wishing for the C&C4 beta, but I never really wanted to.

The question is, is the C&C4 beta MP only?

Well at least we can't say the name fits *Sarcasm*

But hey, at least the beta is soon. I hope the EA server remembered my code. Funny story - i input the code online, and a few days later, my PC contracts a virus. Virus is evil enough to cause a system crash, and force me to use the Factory Reset function on my Vista. It erased my RA3 saved data. I' hoping it doesn't extend to my CD code...

Yes, the beta is multiplayer only. No skirmish, just online multiplayer.

Oddly enough I got two Beta emails, one for the Name the Game Contest and the other for the Premier edition of Red Alert III.

UUUGGGGLLLYYYY!! While I was there, wow, a 1GB download, BUT installation is 10GB?! No way?! I got Modern Warfare 2 in my hard drive and most of my other software in there are needed for my art drawings, that includes computer protections & whatever movies I'm storing. And worse still, there won't be anymore room left when Left 4 Dead 2 is still inside, thus making the beta installation nearly impossible. :( Damn, I must prepare a 240GB hard disk next time and scrap the old 160GB.

Well, I did got my email, but that one is not from my RA3 Premier edition, but from the "Name the Game" contest, weird, I thought the Premier edition ones will access to the game first.

The C&C 4 beta once installed only takes 1.36 GB of disk space. But its recommended to have at least 10GB free space for installation.

Hard drives are cheap these days you know. Slap in another 500 GB drive in your PC.... problem solved.

I can't believe I got the CNC4 Beta qualification through my email!

Why? I am a winner in the top 10 Name the Game contest for CNC4!! Woot!! th_w00t.gif

Unfortunately, I have no interest in playing a MP CNC4 beta for now unless a SP demo for C&C4 is released with no online support. -_-

I know, the beta actually doesn't contain a huge amount of disc space because it only contains skirmish maps, no single player or FMVs just yet. That's why it's small.

And I know the hard disc gets cheaper these days, but one big problem, I'm using a laptop, swapping hard disc is not as simple as you're swapping it or installing it from your desktop computer.
