Well, first of all, hello everyone I'm Yandols and im new to the forums. And i love RA2.

I hope you guys can teach me more about modding RA2.

 

I first found out about modding RA2 years ago from a mod i bought that was called "Red Alert 2: Deezire", it was recommended to me by the store owner and he said that its an expansion pack for RA2.

After about 4 ~ 6 months of playing RA2: DZ, i got bored and went to the ra2 folder to look for something i can modify, i then found rules.ini and i thought to myself i could modify the game from here since i found the data, after i modified some basic changes like reducing costs, i tested it and they work.

 

I only found out about TibEd last week i didn't even knew there was a modding software for RA2, i thought everyone does it from the rules.ini as i have been modifying the rules.ini for a year until my computer broke and i lost all my hard work.

 

 

Well anyway i hope you guys can help me when i need assistance in modding RA2.

I'm not a noob but i can't say im a pro.

TibEd is for beginners really. Experienced modders don't use it and just stick with Rules.ini. If you want more modding tools, there is a lot more out there than just TibEd.

 

The afore-mentioned Doctor has nothing nice to say about TibEd and will not hesitate to lambaste you for giving up on what he considers is the only right way to mod.

However, he is also one of the most experienced RA2/YR modders you'll find around here too, which means you'll have to look past his... idiosyncrasies... if you want his expertise.

Oh, i didn't know that, well at least i'm still kinda used to the manual editing of Rules.ini. But i do find TibEd quite useful and handy too.
