C&C 4 Beta Uplink Series Part 5: Tiberium

Recommended Posts

Apoc, judging from the above and from other comments, it seems that many community members believe that the harvesting mechanic is only a part of the problem. It seems that the unit designs and overall atmosphere of the game break the suspension of disbelief. That's like shattering a vase: once it's broken, it can't be easily repaired, and even if it is, it still seems disjointed.

The simple fact is, a lot of fans, including myself, believe C&C4 is taking a few too many breaks from reality.

Everything what he said

Everything what they said

Hey guys at least show some respect and thank APOC for giving you some extra insight into the new Tiberium mechanic system. He didn't have to say anything more. It disappoints me when I see people jump all over him when they don't know the full story.

What Sonic said

Some of us are simply having a hard time comparing C&C4 to the earlier games, which made us fans of C&C through many years. At this point there's no quick solution to that problem imo.

I just hope the game is MAD fun so I'll forget about the "reality" :P

I thought during that time period in C&C4, there's so much Tiberium that almost covers the world according to those early FMVs. And now in-game, even factories get to protect and cover Tiberium from the surface to the undergrounds and transport Tiberium to whichever area needs it. That explains the idea of planes dropping Tiberium from the sky and this method makes it look like it's limited Tiberium. I wouldn't blame on Apoc, but on the developers themselves. Although this gameplay mechanic feels like the "Company of Heroes" way, we still need the Tiberium harvesting on the battlefield or else it doesn't look sense to us. I don't think Kane would accept this kind of method.
