The Forgotten Superweapon: Veinhole Monster

Recommended Posts

The C&C Labs Mod Development Team of The Forgotten mod for C&C 3 Tiberium Wars has just shown off some screen shots of The Forgotten's new super weapon. The Veinhole Monster from Tiberian Sun, which is larvae for the monster are loaded into a missile that is launched from the chamber. Upon impact in an enemy location, the monster buries in the ground and quickly spreads throughout the area, destroying vehicles and structures in it's wake with its powerful thrashing veins. Below are some samples.

Hmm.. Vein hole monster, that means chemical missile spam for Nod. Or at least it used to, the good old days. :(

I do like the return of hte little monster though. :)

I'd like to see it in action...

If this is a superweapon, I assume the monster disappears after a few seconds? So where does it go?

If it doesn't disappear, I call over-powered...

The same way it has come?

In a missile?

I'd have to see how everything works, but going by what I've seen, I'd swap their Ion Storm support power with the Veinhole Monster superweapon.

The Ion Storm looks like a powerful attack and could easily be a superweapon. If the Veinhole Monster was a permanent addition to the battle field (until killed) that dealt minor-moderate damage to passing vehicles (like it did in TS), it would serve well as a support power.

Hahaha, I should probably learn to read. I figured it would just strangely come out of the ground or something :P

Yeah, I'd have to agree here.

Speaking of that, on a related news, they also release the Blossom Tree Support Power, yeepee! They didn't forget that one! Good old Westwood memories. :)

Now I've seen it, the monster does just vanish, and so I will have to stand by my first opinion; the Veinhole Monster should be a semi-permanent addition to the map as a support power.

As for the Ion Tempest... it doesn't look very practical... the lightning shoots out at very odd angles. If it could change the sky to yellow and blast large bolts straight down reminiscent of TS, it could be a cool superweapon, but I am not a TW modder, so I don't know what kind of limitations they might be bound by.
