Not Again, Valve

Recommended Posts

Valve's getting on making mods is getting too hectic for the people who wanted a conclusion to HL2, in which it's probably not gonna happen. This time Valve is making an Arena RTS game called Dota 2, which is a sequel derived from Blizzard's Warcraft III TFT mod!!! What does Valve know anything about RTS? Not much.

For those who have no idea what Dota is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dota_2

It appears the release date for Dota II is in 2011, probably after their Portal 2 release.

Let Blizzard create the sequel to Dota, not Valve. If EA owns Valve, EA would never accept any material coming from Activision or Blizzard!! If Valve makes a future C&C FPS or RTS game, roflmao.

I think it's a cheesy move as well.

Sometimes I wish they would go back to the solid gameplay and atmosphere from the first Half-Life games.

I'm still waiting for Black Mesa to be released. It's not Valve's project but it sure looks amazing.

You should check it out if you don't know it: Black Mesa

Defense of the Ancients (DoTA) wasn't made by Blizzard, it was a map made by the WarCraft 3 Community. The DoTA mod map isn't a map in RTS style it's more of a RPG action game afaik.

Blizzard won't make a sequel to DoTA. EA doesn't own Valve, Valve is an independent corporation which uses EA's publishing network for some games.
