New Renegade X Site & Winter Update

Recommended Posts

Another large update to keep us informed of all the latest happenings with Renegade X, an Unreal Tournament 3 total conversion FPS mod that brings the world of Command & Conquer to ground level, has been posted on the brand new and just relaunched Renegade X official site. This "Winter Update" covers such topics as the dynamic lighting system, close up look at Tiberium, the return of Transport Helicopters and a look at the new Sniper Rifle model. Here's just a few of the latest screen shots.

Simply amazing!

I've always thought that the color grey is a perfect addition to Nod's theme. Just like in the good old days :)

Couldn't agree more.

Happy to give my vote to Renegade X! Can't wait for the standalone so then I can finally get my friends to try this who don't have Ut3

Great to see the Transport Helicopters return. Plus the ability to fire from them is another awesome idea. When you used them in the original Renegade I always wondered why Westwood never made so you could.

Yeah I think that's what holding Renegade X back, it still requires UT3 to play. Once it goes standalone I think the player base will explode. Oh the many hours I spent long into the night playing Renegade online. It was just so damn fun. Renegade X has the same magic but there is not enough people playing it just yet.

Renegade X is so good that if you had to pay for it, I would happily hand over some cash.

Calling their work impressive is probably inappropriate, so let me say it this way:

HOLY MOTHER OF KANE, THAT'S ****ING AWESOME!!!

Seriously, I guess this is by far the most professional work ever done for CNC - perhaps even compared to the official CNCs.

I was just playing Renegade and they started talking about Renegade X, a lot of them* were saying Renegade X sucks... :(

What a shame. I for one, am looking forward to when Renegade X is available standalone.

(*I wasn't counting, but it looked like about 3 people were bashing it while 1 was hyping it)

Now I wonder when the team will make a move to the UDK independently and be basically run without UT3.

I like the new site and we want to expect much more from the dev team in the future days and months ahead.

Thanks for posting the update.

We'll keep on firing no matter what the naysayers say. We're a resilient team that have always moved forward. The truth is, you can never satisfy everyone, and there will always be people looking to put any effort down. We have no interest in appeasing the obwalking/walljumping/PT-through-walls/pro-glitch crowd: Renegade X can and will move forward without them  .

We already are :) The next release will be a standalone mini-campaign (about 1 hour in length) based on the UDK. That release will be followed by the standalone multiplayer release.

Thanks everyone for the great comments.

Yeah that will be group who don't like Renegade X, the idiots who can't use their cheap ass exploits and glitches anymore. However in all the years I spent playing Renegade online I hardly ever encountered other players using these exploits. When I did it was very rare. I guess I just stuck to the right servers to play on.

What was the pro-glitch?

When I said pro-glitch, I was referring to the people who'd like to keep Renegade's problems. It may not be a thick attitude in public servers, but the things I mentioned are all a very big deal in the competitive Renegade community and a major reason why they haven't been supportive of our project.
