Sonic 296 Posted January 12, 2011 We usually don't stray way off topic here at CNCNZ.com but watching and following the news coming from Queensland, Australia about all the flood waters over the past few days has warranted this special news post. While I won't go into details about what is now being called the Worst disaster on record for Queensland. Reports say that so far 12 people have lost their lives. Enormous amounts of water now threaten the Brisbane CBD. And many of the smaller towns out side of Brisbane are also in major danger as flood waters continue to rise. The full coverage can be found here. So I felt I should post a quick update here on the main site to let our friends in that part of the world know we are thinking of them and we hope you can all overcome this disaster. PurpleGaga27 40 Posted January 12, 2011 (edited) I think this year's just another "El Nino" season. Most people did not say this year the weather is going to be an El Nino season. (see term for info) Southern California had seven consecutive days of rain in December totaling an average of 8+ inches. And the blizzard and snow in the Midwest, Central and East areas of the US? Some areas are mighty heavy with over several feet of snow overall by this time. The global warming at this time will lead to more El Nino conditions. I was quite surprised what is happening in Australia lately, with all of those strange weather. Edited January 12, 2011 by zocom7 Share this post Link to post

Guest Stevie_K Posted January 13, 2011 Sickening how paranoia seems to be an epidemic these days. Every single day I have to listen to people who all have their own conspiracies and paranoia talk about how the world is going to end. Worst is that, if it is the end of times, there's definitely nothing that such a paranoid little individual can do about it. Sometimes I wonder if it's just because they want to say "I knew it!". Ridiculous yes, but that's the damn impression you get. I know you ain't serious about it though. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted January 13, 2011 Bad luck for hte Aussies I guess. They bitch and bitch about getting no rain for years and years, and now they get some. I guess that's just how things work out huh. But yeah watching Sky News, they are going to be fixing up that state for months, if not years. Share this post Link to post
