Vote on Tiberian Sun Serial Validation Poll

Recommended Posts

This horse**** should get some more attention, as this will completely **** everybody who's playing it freeware-wise into offline-only.

There should be anger about the fact it's even being proposed.

Yes it is * , they are compleatly alienating any new players (although, they did a pretty good job already) this should have been the best thing to happen to there community and fan base and they have shoot them self in the foot.

I tryed to make attempts in the pat to let them see light but quite frankly they didnt care much, the xwis community can be rather elitist and the proper admins realy dont catter much for any game other than RA2.

I gave up on xwis when CnCNet (over at cnc-comm) announced and realesed its new version of its play online via LAN patch (there was a push for RA1 support and in supporting the RA1 beta patch and in doing so they mangaed to create support for TS and RA2 although RA2 isnt officialy supported by CnCNet)

It looks like the XWIS guys don't have anything better to do than to ramble on the freeware release of TS.

Leave things as it is and concentrate on maintaining the servers. All else is totally irrelevant.

Later on in the discussion, XWIS mentions the possibility of having serials just for ranked games. So quick match and clan matches, leaving non ranked games (ffg's) still able to be played with no serial.

This is by far one of the worst things i have seen in ages.

Ranked games etc, sure, but standard games would be utterly stupid.

Hmm I did have a banner for it, if sonic wanted to put this on the frontpage. Imageshack have lost it :\

I've already had all kinds of headaches with XWIS over virtually every C&C game, with serials that randomly do/don't work, and my experience with the "customer service" has been starkly disappointing. I've stayed away from it all for a long while but seeing this even proposed really pisses me off.

On the flip side, I don't want to ever ask people to go register there :) I'm shocked that so many people seemed in favor of it, but that's not the first terrible idea they've been excited over. There was recently also some proposal to offer MMO-like cash shop perks for your online C&C experience, but I believe that one just came from a regular user and nobody of standing (but that didn't stop morons from supporting it).
