The Vortex New Concept Art

[Plok 336]

The team behind The Vortex mod for Zero Hour have posted three new pieces of concept art, depicting the Allied Spy Satellite Uplink, the Soviet Tesla Reactor and the Tesla Coil. They have all been given a more modern looking scheme. Take a look.

I like the Spy Sat, the Tesla Reactor is ok (I have some minor doubts about how well it would look completed), but the Coil... I don't know... it doesn't appeal to me, looks like something from Red Alert 4: Soviet Twilight.

I don't mind the tesla coil, but to my mind a Tesla coil is a gigantic tall tower reigning supreme over the landscape.

It looks about only twice the height of a medium tank, and so this version looks squashed, and the bulky side buildings make it look designed to withstandmêléee attacks. Of course I have no reference points to compare... but that's the feeling it evokes in me at least.
