The beginning of the end for Apple?

Recommended Posts

Steve Jobs announced today that he's resigning from Apple as CEO and remains as chairman, now appointing Tim Cook to replace him as the new CEO. The reason is that he's still battling with pancreatic cancer and other health issues for more than a decade.

Could this be the beginning of the end for Apple after all the domination of electronics? Google may be going to the top but will Microsoft rise again?

You imply way too much with your thread titles. And your commentary.

I've never been a fan of Apple products, light on functions, high in price.

But I doubt Apple will suffer because of hte loss of Steve Jobs.

Reading the title I was half expecting the A to be America. :P

Purplederp you gotta calm on those titles

I'm not an Apple costumer, so I don't really care, but this guy Tim Cook has one hell of a resumé.

Apple is going to see a dip in business, but they won't die. I really hate Apple, but if Jobs is having health issues, that **** sucks.

There was an biography book on Steve Jobs, and it mentioned that it seems that Apple is like a reflection of Steve Jobs.

Over the years, we see Steve Jobs getting thinner and thinner.

The iPods and iPhones and other Apple products also gets thinner and thinner.

Over the years, Steve Jobs' health is deteriorating, and he gets weaker and weaker.

Interestingly enough, we see the Apple products gets more and more fragile. From an Aluminum back iPhone (2G) to a plastic back iPhone 3G and 3GS, and currently the fragile glass covered iPhone4.

As much as there are haters of Apple, but we have to admit that they are really successful, especially in marketing, branding etc.

Steve Jobs definitely did a hell of a great job over the years. We'll see how Tim Cook will work it out.

The Chinese Interpretation of the True Life Story of Steve Jobs.

Next Media Animation takes a look back and the life and career of Apple co-founder and chief executive Steve Jobs, who resigned that position late on Wednesday.

Our tale begins with Steve Jobs dabbling in LSD and spiritual enlightenment, which Jobs describes as the "one of the two or three most important things [he had] done in [his] life". Man, look at all the colors. Hey, that gives me an idea for a company logo.

Jobs would then found Apple with Steve Wozniak and a third guy who cashed out his shares waaaaaay too early, so we didn't bother to animate him. In 1984, Jobs unveiled the Macintosh and forever revolutionized personal computing.

But the good times wouldn't last. John Sculley, the executive Jobs hired away from Pepsi, bounced Jobs from the company he founded.

Jobs would get his revenge by starting another company, Pixar. He produced 'Toy Story' and sold the animation company to Disney for a fat profit.

Jobs finally returned to Apple and defeated arch nemesis Bill Gates to become the baddest mofo in tech. Jobs was then diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and required a live-saving liver transplant.

Apple now faces a threat from Google Android. Thankfully, Jobs can pass the baton to chief operating officer Tim Cook.

As a platform, sure. As individual manufacturers, they aren't beating Apple in terms of units sold. It'll be interesting to see what happens to Apple after their 2-3 year gameplan that Jobs had is gone.

edit: and I love my 160GB ipod myself :P
