James Bond's 007 Skyfall announced

Recommended Posts

It's official. 007 will be back in action next year, with an official new title: Skyfall.

Shaken but not stirred, I am glad Bond is back in the movies after long-term financial issues with MGM got resolved.

As for the gun-barrel sequence, a lot of people wanted this proposed concept to come back:

If a 3D version of Skyfall is accepted, the gun-barrel sequence should have a bullet going out of the screen.

The last film was terrible, I understand trying to be more realistic and 'gritty' but seriously the franchise isn't meant to be those things. Its babes, gadgets and over the top plots and badguys.

I guess I'm just in the minority. I actually liked Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. I liked the hokiness of the original Bond, but there's only so long that can go before it gets stale. I've rather enjoyed the serious tone the last two movies conveyed. Maybe it's just me, I dunno. What the hell do I know?

QOS was boring not terrible.

However I really like the new direction of the Bond Movies.

I like the off-beat casting of Mr. Craig, although I am still sad that Pierce no longer fits into the suit.

Something I would like in the next film is a serious approach to an outlandish villan/scenerio.

But with 20+ films in the franchise it's hard to come up with something fresh and interesting.

I guess they can just join Hollywood and make remakes of their own films. Ha!

Not another Bond movie. Can't they come up with something new. Never even enjoyed watching the older Bond flims with Connery and co. Every stupid Bond movies follows the same formula anyway.

Bond on holiday....

Meets up with some lady....

Gets mixed up in some spy ****....

Saves the world....

Wins the girl....

Generally a snore-fest all round.

Sorry to bump this (but decidely to stay on the thread with this one a year later), but has anyone watched the movie yet? The US version isn't released till this Friday and Europe and Asia that are currently showing the movie first in theaters have already combined for over $280 million USD in the box office.

Just saw the movie. Trust me, don't miss it, especially if you were even slightly disappointed with Quantum of Solace. It's worth every penny you spent on the ticket.

But generally this time after reading the spoiler plots, 007 isn't going to save the girl and the world.

Sadly, it's Judi Dench's last performance in the series.

Finally watched the movie, and you know what I think? It's a great movie nonetheless, but with some boring moments and a plot that looked like it went mission impossible.
