Russia is a more logical choice, and most generic among all. If EA uses China again, China censorship will ban the game again, so its better not to touch China and use something else like Russia.

Or the second choice, most probably Asia, or some form of a collective bunch of Asian nations working together to stop the terrorists.

What about North Korea?

Though I admit it's possible for it to be some sort of Asian Coaltion

Or even some kind of US/China alliance...

 

TBH, I'm 99% certain it will be one of the following:

- China

- USA

- Russia

- China/USA Alliance

- China/Russia Alliance

- Asian Coalition (Could include Russia, who knows)

- North Korea

- India

- Australia

Upon reflection, I personally felt that from the many game titles I've seen so far, its extremely repetitive to see US vs Russia vs Middle East/Arab dudes, it's like a staple and its been used to death.

Its good to see some initiative to use EU instead of USA (anyways in the ZH storyline I recalled China pwns USA somehow in the single player storyline? Correct me if I'm wrong)

It'll be interesting and yet challenging move to try a new faction involving a collective of Asian nations. I mean come on, how many games you see Asian nations fighting, a few perhaps (not referring to the overused North Koreans are evil communists genres)?

One way to go about is the the main superpower, China (as exhibited in the finale of Gen:ZH) rises. By during the period leading to Gen2, maybe a future-fictitious cultural revolution and etc. caused the nation to dilute and dissolve? Then when the GLA rises up again etc, there is a need to reunite the asian nations once more, but this time under another acronym that resembles China, but not really in a certain sense.

I think the obvious thing for the developers to do is this:

Faction 1) Allies (USA + EU)

Faction 2) GLA

Faction 3) something like the BRICS (a real political organisation of developing countries of Brasil, Russia, India, China, South Africa)

 

Allies: have the best technology and air force, but expensive equipment and need a lot of resources

Gla: they can easily get resources, cheap units made of modified civilan vehicles, no tactical army, sneack attacks, car bombs etc...

BRICS(or whatever the name): Developing countries, with less technology than the Allies, but cheaper to run and more dedicated soldiers. Based on heavy ground units.
