The Most Overrated Sandwiches in America

Recommended Posts

Was just reading this out of blue article about The most overrated sandwiches in America. None of the burgers or sandwiches listed are available here in New Zealand. But damn some of them look awful. It did cover Subway, that we do have here in New Zealand, it sure doesn't look like whats pictured here....

Anyway read it for yourself at http://thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=overrated_sandwiches

When I was in the USA back June 2008 the food and amount of it was a bit of shock to me.

Really, I think the $7 foot long promo going on now is damn good value.

QFT.

The problem with keeping the food fresh in Subway is not to place the hot ones outside so as to cool down and spoil, plus the scent is too strong every time I go to a Subway restaurant. Also the $5 foot-long sandwiches from Subway is no match with the $5 large pizza from Little Caesar's, which still happens to be the best value in America.

@Sonic, the $7 and over sandwiches only applies to the premium subs.

And to all the others who have or haven't read this, you probably wouldn't have known that there are way more Subway restaurants in America than McDonald's.

There is this nifty concept known as an exchange rate, in which one country's dollar is not equal to another country's dollar, and restaurants have deals that reflect their host country's currency.

New Zealand $7 foot longs are available in Ham, Meatball, Seafood, Tuna, Veggie, and Roast Beef. Those are all "classic" sandwiches.

Well the point I was making that Subway in the US looks like **** compared to what I see here in New Zealand. The local Subway just around the corner from where I live offers fresh baked breads every day and the contents of the sandwiches is of great quality and looks nothing like what you see in that photo above.

I've never been to one that looks like that, though there must be some that do.

I'll agree with you there. That's some good eats. I think maybe the one time I went to subway like three years ago, I had a cheese steak and it was quite the delicious.

I seriously doubt most subways look like the ones in that picture.

Philly steak sandwiches are amazing. I don't give a **** what Maddox says.

Just visited Maddox site after your comment, it hasn't changed in eons... :o

I have a subway that's attached to a gas station about 2 minutes from my house. And I hardly believe any sub there is worth more then 5$ even the ''premium'' subs... 1 stack of ham, 1 stack of roast beef, and 1 stack of black forest ham for 7$? I like to double the amount of meat for all my subs which make it a little high. XD

I cannot stand how they like to make their subs look ''thick'' in their advertising pictures yet when you get the actual thing it's as flat as pancake of course this is normal for any fast-food style restaurant. :P

I think it's pretty much the bread you are paying for which is expensive itself
