PurpleGaga27 40 Posted July 24, 2012 Around the time Sonic and other adminstrators changed something in this forum (like the Black Hole thread that Plokite_Wolf mentioned on June 25), my account somehow got locked out (for a limited time) from this forum when I try to log in and I thought I typed the correct username and password. The next few days when I logged back in, the password is incorrect even though I was certain I typed the password correctly several times, so I had no choice but to reset the password and used a new one. Also around that time Malevolence's account was suspended after I found out seeing his profile status. It looked like my forum account wasn't the only one which got hacked. Is it just me or our member accounts in this forum are being hacked during a forum change? Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted July 24, 2012 You're the first to notify us of this. If we get more reports, we can look further into it. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted July 24, 2012 Around the time Sonic and other adminstrators changed something in this forum To which changes are you referring to? While we don't discuss account activity of other members publicly, I will confirm we did notice something strange happening with Malevolence's account, hence why it was suspended until further action could be taken. Accounts get temporarily locked after a few unsuccessful login attempts, this lock resets after 24 hours though. I don't think any accounts have been hacked. More like someone else logged in to your account because they knew or guessed your password. It is the responsibility of the member to make sure their password is secure. Share this post Link to post
Chimas 7 Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) Just to warn you and all cncnz users, if you consider this useful: RELIC NEWS has been hacked in the last days and the users database has been taken. They are advising the members to change passwords because they might have the SAME PASSWORD EVERYWHERE. If you have a standard password for many different sites, you should consider changing it, if you have any connection to RELIC NEWS. \edit Sources for consulting: http://forums.relicn...t.php?f=72&a=92 http://forums.relicn...erything-hackey ... really sorry for the font size histeria ... \edit2 It's not RELIC, it's RELICNEWS, a fansite, according to a friend ... Edited July 25, 2012 by Solo Please don't use giant fonts or ugly colours, this is covered in the forum rules Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted July 25, 2012 Well as I said above, it is the responsibility of the member to make sure their password is secure, so if you feel changing it is something you need to do by all means yes do it. If you want something to generate secure random password try this http://www.random.org/passwords/. Share this post Link to post
Plok 327 Posted July 26, 2012 How mentally disabled you'd have to be to hack not an official website, but a fansite? Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted July 26, 2012 I dunno about being mentally disabled but scriptkiddies for sure. Share this post Link to post
