Halo 4 pays homage to Tiberium?

Recommended Posts

So apparently 343i's map makers decided to make their upcoming map pack reference a map from Halo 3, one from Halo: Reach and...Tiberium? Believe it or not, here it is...The map is called "Shatter".

And, even more strange is that the vehicle in the first screenshot, the Mantis, looks a lot like the Wolverine from Tiberium:

If you don't believe me that this looks like Tiberium, here's some reference shots:

I'm thinking this is more of a coincidence, but it's a really funny one. And some people who worked on Halos 1 through 3 ended up working on Tiberium, if I recall correctly.

Yeah I'm going with the coincidence factor here. Its still damn cool though. The first time I saw the Mantis in Halo 4 I thought of the Wolverine and Titan.

And some people who worked on Halos 1 through 3 ended up working on Tiberium, if I recall correctly.

I was not aware of this fact.

I don't recall the Halo universe having Tiberium-like rocks, so I'm guessing it's intentional (and not in a bad way)..

The tower in the background of this pic is very similar to the Tiberium Spike in Tiberium, while the lighting itself is similar to that used in several screenshots and videos from Tiberium. The fog, the overall green map lighting, the rocky ground textures, and even the way the structures look separate and modular, all of it is reminiscent of Tiberium.
