i just came up with a good strategy while foolin around in skirmish and what i did was build 3 auroras 3 stealth bombers and 6 raptors and sent the auroras to destroy his aa fire then the stealth bombers to finishes the rest of his defences and the raptors with upgrades to finish him off. His base was devastated. I will post the replay once i do it to a cpu.

I have another strategy. Build 20 Auroras. Select 10 to guard a part of the base / destroy the defenses. The others will guard the inner part. Viola! He cant easily shoot all the Auroras because they are plenty.

Guarding air using auroras??? That's so unwise, the enemy can easily destroy your auroras in a sec, using gatlings or quad cannon. And it's not hard to destroy 'em while guarding an area, just use raptor or migs. The weakness of Auroras, they can't attack air units which make them vulnerable to combat air units.

Mmmm... Perhaps I hadn't thought about that.

Auroras only good to destroy base defense and buildings I think. Except for Aurora Alpha, good to blow up horde of units.

furthermore, guarding auroras do not flight at Supersonic speed. are quite vulnerable.it is true that they speed up while enemy gets whithin sight range, but for example, gatling cannons can shot em down from afar. And finally guarding auroras around your base are too dangerous for yourself, since the back blast can blow up half of your base. Not to forget that this blast will destroy your air units, and all the alphas above the blast will be destroyed.

I've tried to guard my base with Alpha Auroras long time ago, when the GLA is using their ambush or sneak tunnel, the Auroras blow up nearly half of my base, the blast even destroy my auroras. It's really a bad idea to guard your base with auroras.

Best air unit for baby sitting your base is the Combat Chinook filled with 2 snipers and 6 rocket soldiers. I recently enabled the combat chinook to become a veteran. so now when it gets to battered it will start to repair itself. Its still not a strong unit but it will def give the enemy a hard time especially in groups of 2.

remember when i suggested using auroras to explore, keep forcefiring across map before bomb releases?

Also gives a scare, when an aurora cuts right through your base. makes ur opponent think "damn, they have auroras!"

I scout with auroras all the time. Then I pick my fav target to hit when I'm done.

Best way to gaurd with air: Post your aircraft in gaurd mode over your base where enemy AA cant get them, scatter other units in the area where you actually want guard, hot key your aircraft, then when you see a unit in the arae of interest, send your hotkeyed, already in the air aircraft to blastem.

Works best with F-22 and MiG.
