OK the 5th Installment of currently watching is here! So what DVD's or movies in the cinema have you paid for recently? Or are there any DVD's you've dug out of the old collection to watch again? Mine are...

 

Butterfly Effect - A very interesting film this. A guy one day discovers he can go back in time using the entries in his diary, to change the bad past he had when he was younger.

 

American History X - This film takes a look at anti-semitism and Neo-Nazism in America today. It stars Edward Norton who used to be a racist thug, but after killing 2 black men trying to jack into his car and going to prison, he's out and a changed man... Now he must fight to undo the disease on the family he once put there.

 

Chopper - Perhaps one of the most grusome yet funniest films to come out of Australia in years. This is a film focussing on one of autrailia's most notoriously popular criminal Mark "Chopper" Read.

 

Memento - When I first got this film over 3 years ago I never stopped watching it.. The film starts off at the ending and works it's way back scene by scene until it gets back to the beginning to see why Lenny (a guy with short term memory loss) killed a cop in cold blood, and the reasons for it.

I don't watch much TV, but ATM I'm watching:

 

Braniac: Science Abuse - they blow stuff up, and do stupid 'experiments' usually involving women with large mellons.

 

Casualty: It's been going for 19 years (obviously I haven't ben watching it that long) but there's something cool about hospital dramas. Casualty has something er doesn't have, but I can't put my finger on it - perhaps it's the megga cool credit music (http://www.bbc.co.uk/casualty/classicclips...ingtitles.shtml - the most recent clip)

 

Spooks (AKA MI5 in America) new series starting in october and I can't wait, it's totally awsome!

I got the Butterfly Effect on DVD last week. Great movie, great story, very original. Unexpect ending..... I won't describe it though in case your planning on watching it :wink:

 

I also watched Kill Bill Vol 2, very boring :tired:

Tarentino's films are always very boring.... I just don't get what the hype about Reservoir Dogs is about, the film shows some promise at the start, and then what do we get from after 10 minutes all the way to the end? A few blokes in a warehouse chatting away cos one of them's been shot..

 

Oh yes riviting stuff, I watched it serveral times in a week I enjoyed it so much.. i mean COME ON!!! :roll:

Kill Bill 1's cool because it's just fighting throughout, but Kill Bill 2 is just talking, and they talk very little sence.

 

I'm also watching Silent Witness which recently started again. It's kinda like CSI, but less action orientated and a bit more of a brain puzzler.

I've watched Silent witness on several occassions and I just don't like it. It feels like one of those typical British Drama's that don't seem to have any substance. They do, but it's not original, it always feels that someone has used the same methods before..

 

CSI I think is different. I never seem to catch it on TV all the time but I've watched a good 15 episodes or so and I like it, OK it's got that less gritty feel of silent witness and it's actually more spit and polish, with a good measure of good old uncle sams action sauce in it. But I dunno, it's different in the sense that I feel more involved in the plot of CSI.

 

It's the same with the series 24. If the UK were to attempt a 24 type scenario with "Real Time" occurances, I don't think it would work. OK I criticise the American Media for dumbing down alot of it's programming, but there are some things that are often better left to the Americans.... Like Iraq :roll:

Yeah Kill Bill 1 was ok with its fighting.

 

Kill Bill Vol 1 and Vol 2 are really just one big long movie anyway.

I know that they're one movie split into two, but I regard them as basically a sequal because that's how they were released. I really question that descision to release them seperately as they're completely unballanced.
