A Glance at the Tiberium RPG

Recommended Posts

Over the past year or so, I've been working on a Tiberium-based RPG game. Set sometime in the 1600's, this game poses the question "What if Tiberium arrived earlier?" You'll get a quick taste of what this game is about, and more videos will follow as time passes and progress is made. Take a look!

If you'd like to check out some of the other progress being made, take a look at our Tiberium RPG forums!

First I thought it was like pokemon. lol

Yeah, that's something I'll definitely have to work around. The game, like any RPG game, will stray towards similar games that I'm familiar with. That's just natural. Growing up, I played a lot of the earlier Zelda games and the earlier Pokemon games. While I'm taking a couple things as inspiration from them, I need to make sure I don't accidentally make this game feel like one of those games.

Some examples of things that I've taken from inspiration are things like the trees you can cut down in pokemon. Almost every RPG game has this feature. A tree, a boulder, a wall... there's always something that blocks the path that you need a special tool to break apart. My goal is to set it up in a way that it is an item that doesn't otherwise look out of place. So it'll be things like boulders in caves, special trees in a dense forest, things of that nature.

I didn't realise you had musical abilities as well. Nice.

Have you considered just doing covers of FK work but in a mediaeval style?

Flutes, Lutes and harp's and it's a bit of a stretch but maybe a harpsichord for period but appropriate sound?

By the way (as I forgot to mention this earlier), that battle graphic for the Knight... is that just a placeholder? Because it really doesn't seem to fit the game or other battle graphics that I've seen.

Also, the way you pronouced my name is exactly correct.

Oh yeah, that's definitely a placeholder. I just threw that in for the sake of showing what a battle could look like.
