PurpleGaga27 40 Posted December 23, 2014 (edited) Well, I thought the Sound Blaster Z is going to be the best sound card for Win7/8. As it turns out, there were some criticism that several features on the sound card have been left out. ASIO is still supported for recording music though. The PROS: 1) It is a 3D HD sound card, sound is far better than X-Fi Titanium. 2) Comes with SBX Surround that can be run from the Control Panel, enough to enhance better sound. 3) The small microphone with an amplifer is excellent for perfect crystal-voice recording. The big CONS (as I found out from several forums): 1) No MIDI support (not even hardware MIDI synthesizer with SoundFont support) -- but it can still play normal MIDI. 2) No hardware OpenAL acceleration. 3) Some software programs were left out from the installation CD and had to be manually downloaded from the Creative website especially THX TruSurround. 4) No Windows 10 driver support. (Creative had better support it next year by the time Win10 comes out.) Well that isn't much of a good $69.99 USD price tag my dad bought on Amazon (and it was for Christmas).
