Generals - English Language BIG files

Recommended Posts

Hi! I just bought Generals - awesome graphics and gameplay - even though I can't understand what the menus say....er, you see, it's all in Korean and I'm a dumb-ass mono-lingual-type-person :( (I looked that up in the dictionary, and it said "aka Englishman" D'oh!!)

To explain - I am living in Korea for the moment, and bought the game here (less than half the price of UK or Aus). The obvious drawback being the lack of English text.

I had the same problem with RA2, but that was fixed by copying the ra2_english.csf file into the right directory - this file came from the RA2StrEdit utility.

Can anyone help find the English menu text for Generals:?: It would be SO nice to enjoy the whole game!!

Cheers

+-+-+ geez, i'm korean right. i can't read korean cos i moved to NZ when i was very young. The thing with Korean shops is that they say that it's in Korean, but it never is. It's very annoying.

+-+-+ i'm not a computer whiz so i can't help you with the English Menu you're after. sorryz

Can you not attach things to PMs?

Thanks Cap'n M (and Mas'r Chief Gazza)

The problem seems to be which file(s) are needed. I had another look, and realised the ones I had picked out are speech files. The speech is already all in English (unlike RA2), so I'm good with that - it's just the menus and on screen prompts.

Any ideas?

Thanks again, humble e-jut that I am

The file you are looking for is called GENERALS.CSF and you should put it in a folder DataKorean in your game folder, I think.
