That is if you grow up with it. I naturally understand things in feet, miles, pounds, etc. It's very easy for me, and anyone else raised using it. Metric does make more mathematical sense, however.

My situation is very similar to BWare. I grew up with the Imperial system. I ve only been doing metrics since sixth grade, but I'm not bad at it.

 

Old habits die hard, and I have an old habit of measuring things in Imperial, 'cause thats what I'm more familiar with.

 

Be glad at least the Americans on CNCNZ know what the metric system is. Some Americans dont. They're ignorant, and ignorance kills you, or if not, then lands you in a deep pile of ****.

haha... no, we just grow up using it and it's kinda second nature. Sometimes around that age they'll introduce some basic stuff in metric, just to familiarize us with the system at an early age. What is S4?? I'm thinking we probably use different systems... ours is K-12, with Kindergarten, then 1st grade, 2nd grade, etc. After 12th you graduate from high school (elementary being from Kindergarten to 4th or 5th and middle school being from 5 or 6th to 8th) and go on to college, if you want...

lol we're goin a little off topic but hell.

 

Primers 1 - 4. Years 1 and 2. Ages 5 - 6 - Primary School

Standards 1 - 4. Years 3 to 7. Ages 7 - 10 - Primary School

Forms 1-7 Years 7 - 13. Ages 11 - 18 - Intermediate and Highschool.

 

After that you go get a job. Or go to Univ or Polytech. Rack up a huge student loan and end up spending the next 10 years trying to pay it all back.

Here in the US, we don't use metric. I grew up with pounds. I am 110 Lbs.

Anyone convert 110 pounds to kg? cause i don't remember the rate, and too lazy to check, even on the computer.

 

and schools are divided into 3 categories here:

 

Type Grade Age

Elementary K-5 5-9

Intermediate 6-8 10-12

High School 9-12 13-17

College Adult 18+

 

The ages aren't exact, like people in 12th grade can be 18 years, and 8ths can be 13 years old, but its accurate enough

I cood tell you all about the year numbering at my school - but it's very confusing

Basically, when you enter the secondary bit (the school goes all the way from ages 3-18) the year numbers start again at 1.

Ten and half a fourth of a third different school year layouts, 14 different grading scales per city, who knows how many students with diiferent ideas on what school should be like, different eduaction requiremnets for every country.

 

Its a miracle people from two different countries know what each other is talking about.
