i think lap tops are a little bit heavier and harder to carry around than a PSP or DS.

Pfft, I could chuck my GameCube off my deck (long drop) and it would still work fine. ****, I've dropped my Xbox a couple of times and it works like the day I bought it.

 

I mean come on, my SNES still works and it's been through more temperature changes than anything on record. I've dropped, stepped on it, done everything imaginable to it and it still works GREAT. The reset button sticks now and then though.

 

If after 10 years, my SNES can still work, then PalyStations SHOULD be able to run at least half that. I don't think most run ever 2 years before they need replacing. Not always but quite often it seems. My buddy's PS2 crapped out after seven months and he rarely played it.

A friend of mine threw a pillow at his XBox and ruined it. It cost him a ton to get it fixed too. And let's not compare the ancient systems with the new stuff... electronics have gotten MUCH cheaper, so these things are now pretty much built to be disposable. Plus, the older systems are MUCH less complex. Fewer things to go wrong. It's just murphy's law

 

BTW, have you noticed that all the FIRST HAND accounts are positive about PS2? All the bad stuff happens to "friends..." Ineresting.

unlikely the cube is a good solid console not easily breakable much like the xb

Yup. The gamecube is a hard plastic box with the electronics inside. Pretty hard to ruin it by physical contact, unless u crack it.

 

Or just pour water on it or stick it in an oven... :lol:

 

I read that some1 dropped his watch by accident into a turkey when he was putting it the oven for thanksgiving. The battery exploded...ticking timebomb...hehe...damaged oven, damaged watch. turkey pieces everywhere...

My friend who's on his 3rd PS2 played it hardcore - always playing it!

We hardley ever play on our PS2, but I do notice that the controllers have started rattling (I think something's broken off inside). Gamecube controllers are still 100% rattle free and we play it a lot more.

If you Ps2 pad is rattling this means the cheap plastic holding one of the motors for the pad to rumble has cracked or is broken as this has happened to one of my pads. Xbox pads are well build IMO as I have launched mine off walls and floors whille playing Halo 2 online and I have no problems with it.
