Sonic 295 Posted September 15, 2003 The member number means nothing here, that's why you can't see it. Its mostly for internal use, its how the forum tracks your stats etc......nothing more. Share this post Link to post

Rider 0 Posted September 15, 2003 So.... can non-moderators figure out their membernumbers? If so then how, it WOULD help alot if people could figure these things out for themselves... and from others I guess this could be one of those things you joke about forever.... that was until I made that remark NEway, Koen, I recognize what you're telling me there, I too am slightly obsessed by post count numbers, usually I'm usefull or asking usefull questions in the beginning, but later on it get's crappy. just take a look at: http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~starcontrol/board/YaBB.pl and you'll know. My nick is Rider there too. So what's my membernumber? Share this post Link to post

Guest bws Posted September 15, 2003 Guess what... invision power board shows it directly under your username (small off course) (yeah I know, this is kinda spammy, but I just cant help to promote invision board ... ) Share this post Link to post
Koen 2 Posted September 15, 2003 Guess what... invision power board shows it directly under your username (small off course) (yeah I know, this is kinda spammy, but I just cant help to promote invision board ... ) The old Official Generals Forums used to have this, but it promotes a certain 'hunt' for numbers like Member #666 and all. I'm quite happy it is not a status number on these forums, but I'm sure you can deactivate them on Invision Power Board as well. Share this post Link to post
Guest bws Posted September 15, 2003 That is the whole power of invision power board (one of them) every little page is able to be skinned, and there can be multiple skins, so users can choose Share this post Link to post

On CNCNZ.Com, there's just one skin installed but there could be others. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted September 15, 2003 Can we stop this phpBB vs Invision war please  When CNCNZ.com was moved to this server back in June I had the option of either phpBB or Invision for the new forums. I know I made the right choice in going with phpBB. Even back in the days of using the old UBB forums it was decided that once the oppertunity came up phpBB was always the forum of choice. Guest Disposable Hero Posted September 16, 2003 As you can see the forums are back, the stink thing is we have to start again. So if you were registered here before please re-register and help us re-build our forums. Good to be back but you can't deny this is a good way to clean up the forums  Share this post Link to post

Luk3us 63 Posted September 19, 2003 Invision power boards are the ones with the awesome Shout box at the top of em' right. Should have one of those here cause they're cool Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted September 19, 2003 Actually I think the shout box thing is an add on mod for Invision Power Boards. I really don't see the point of having something to leave short messages or have quick discussions like a shout box would offer. Isn't that what the forums are already for?
