Although I'm 1 year too young to vote in this election if I were eligible to vote I'd go for Labour.

The economy's the best it's been for yonks and although there's stuff wrong with the country, it's not that serious.

The Conservatives don't seem to really offer a viable alternative to me, there are too many holes in their election pleges

I still don't consider the Lib Dems - they don't have a solid plan, if they did came into power we'd be screwed 'cos they don't have a clue what to do.

Liberal Democrats seem to have issues nomatter what country their in. Even if they're different parties with the same name. If I were Brit, I'd vote Labor party.

If Blair wins this then we will be with him for another 4 years which makes his leadership of the country span 12 years at the 2009 election. By then I think he will have the following things going on in Britain.

1) The MRSA supoerbug would have gotten worse, causing over 1,000 deaths or illnesses every month around the country.

2) Him and Bush will decide to invade yet another country in the search for Weapons of Mass Destruction

3) University tuition fees, taxes, duty, UK fuel prices will rise further above the rate of inflation than ever before. Making earning a living alot harder, and they'll be raising house prices further, so people like me on a £30,000 joint income with my partner still cannot afford a damn mortgage :(

4) Unemployment, gun crime, and all crime in general will continue to rise. It's unsafe enough to go out at night as it is, after another 4 years it will be impossible not to be paranoid, cos even the old 87 year old granny wants a piece of ya ass!!

And many more.....

And in these 4 years the queen may kick the bucket and we'll find ourselves in the horrible sobering reality that Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles will be King & Queen!!

i'd hav to agree with King on this one. Although i am only 18 i watch politics alot and all i see coming from the Labour party is 'Tory bashing' , they never tell you fully what they plan to do, they go on about the good things they have achieved but fail to mention the bad things. Young voters at my age aren't concerned with what happened while the tory's were last in power, we're looking to the future. i for one don't feel any safer where i live than i did 8 years ago, they say reported crime is down, but thats because people dnt bother reporting it anymore bacause police are too busy doing admin, and too much red tape.

At the present minute i am job searching and i decided that it might be a good idea to go on Jobseekers Allowance so i dnt hav to borow from my parents. That was the worst decision i hav ever made. I havent been paid for 8 weeks now because they are wanting paperwork i dnt hav, and not once hav i been informed of job vacancies or even been asked what i;m doin to look for jobs, so much for Gordon Browns 'New Deal' .

I'm going to give the Tory's the chance that people gave Labour back in '97.

It doesn't matter who runs the country anyway. A politician is a politician. If the Tories were to get back into power we'd be moaning about them and be begging for Labour to be back in power. Then the cycle will continue.

The country needs to change it's Democratic stance and move away from Monarchy. The UK's democratic system is a farce... with a royal family that's a laughing stock.... Monarchs have no power these days in the UK, so what is the need for them. TIME FOR A UK REPUBLIC!!!!

Oh, I'm sorry traditionalists, will this destroy the English culture, tourism, heritage, and everything that the UK stands for? Because beaurecrats can't get their asses out of the stonage and allow the country to be run like everywhere else with a president....

21st century and the UK is stuck up about tradition... OH PLEASE!!!

I too think you should get rid of that Monarch but incidently, that won't fix the problems you are refering to.

As for Labour, is it me or are their political strategies matching more with American political strategies? (i.e. forget telling people what you're going to do, just bash the opposition).

Mark my words though, you (British in general) will re-elect Blair, know why? because Labour can smile and pretend nothing happened just long enough to get your votes.

It's true that the cycle will continue, but each government leaves behind something good, and something bad, and its up to the other parties to fix those issues. Thr labour party admitted that when it took the economy over it was doing well, and they have built on that to make it better. But they havent really improved schools or hospitals or crime or immigration. These are big issues aswell, and they seem to have been sidelined. i believe the tory's will attempt to fix the problems. i know they wnt be perfect and they will no doubt screw a few things up as every govt. does, but as long as they do some good for our country they i wnt mind. As for the monarchy, id rather have that than President Blair.

The Monarchy doesn't do anything now except pose for photos and be expensive, there's no need to get rid of them because they are good for tourism and don't have any effect on the running of the country.

The royalty are good for tourism. They also help remind us of how england became one of the greatest nations on earth, and they also keep us apart from the rest of the world which has presidents, we're becoming unique.

*whistle* I'm impressed. Didnt know you felt that way about the UK.

Well I prefer the idea of an American type democracy than a British one. I'd prefer to live in a country that runs any type of predsidency rather than monarchy.

Apart from France that is

Dont even go there (in discussion, the food is pretty good)

I dont see the point in the Monarchs of Britian, except for "Tradition" which in this day an age, doesnt help them at all.
